Yarn Stash

I worked for hours and hours yesterday going through bins and bins of old papers.  I found old family photos, all manner of little treasures, and produced a monster sized black plastic bag of papers, such as meeting agendas, treasurer's reports, etc.  Sheesh!  Kristi worked yesterday on taking all my yarn out of bins and bags and stacking them on shelves according to if they were acrylic, cotton or alpaca.  I don't have much wool as I never can wear it due to scratchy-ness.  Here is my antique pie safe closed.

Here is the stash in all it's glory.  Should I be ashamed?  I'm not! :-D

But I will have no reason to buy more for a while, do you think? :-)

After days of rain, we had a sunny day yesterday, I enjoyed looking out at my little waterfall while I went through one bin after another.

I also enjoyed looking out of the French doors to the barn and watching the kids run around.  I told hubby that we need to prune that dark purple lilac so I could see better, and that he needed to move the pellet BBQ out of the way. :-)

On Friday I met Gracie, Betsy and Taci for lunch.  We're all Pacific NW bloggers who found each other and just love getting together to chat.  We all understand each other regarding the blog thing, so it's our time to talk about that.  We ate at Bocelli's Italian restaurant which is great.  For lunch you choose the type of pasta, sauce and what you want in it and they cook it up fresh for you.  I had bow tie pasta, alfredo sauce, salmon, mushrooms, asparagus and spinach.  YUM!  We then went to the yarn shop across the street and I drooled over the same skeins of yarn I drooled over last time, but at $27.50 per skein.. I decided that I should not bring home any new yarn at this time.  :-)

I'll be heading back to the "trenches" in the studio this afternoon.  There is much more to do.  But we're having another gorgeous sunny day, so it will be lovely in the studio with the doors open for fresh air.  Kristi is working out in the garage today and Dayle is going to wash our trailer (we're going to the beach in a few weeks for his birthday) and he's going to mow some.

What are you up to today?  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. Bravo for you, my friend, Teresa! Thanks for another good visit on Friday. You are inspiring me to follow your good example. I am thinking of repurposing one of my bookshelves to organize my yarn as Kristi did for you. It will be pretty and a practical way to go shopping...at home :) I drove to and from church this morning and loved being out in the sun and fall colors and seeing Mt. Hood so impressive in a new white coat! This afternoon I am going to be responsible for the Grand Girls for a few hours and am looking forward to the time. Blessings to you and yours while you sort and organize and clean and.... :-) Gracie xx

  3. Those yarns make beautiful photos. Are you sure that is not a yarn store? Ha ha.
Your view and yard are gorgeous and I can see you had fun at your luncheon. Five minutes ago I posted photos on my blog of a luncheon I attended. Food and friends, hurray.

  4. I am going to dehydrate some more apples this afternoon. Glad you have more of a yarn stash than me....I need to get to it soon, as I want to make fingerless gloves for me and a friend's gift too. Maybe we will stop at the alpaca farm when we go to Hood River and get another skein of yarn,if they still have that color. Mt. Hood is looking good from where we are. Glad you are getting through your stash 0' stuff. I have to get through a desk and get it out of here. Can I do it before the holidays? will see. It's nice here as well! Hugs!

  5. Your stash looks beautifully organized. Isn't that a wonderful feeling? I just finished changing my kids' drawers over from summer clothes to fall, and I feel exhilarated by having gotten it done! I'm glad you had such a wonderful time with the ladies. Your lunch sounds delicious. :)

  8. Look at all that glorious yarn, no you should not be ashamed you should be proud. There is nothing like yarn to make you happy, at least me anyway. Kristi is a Saint once again, boy is she a hard worker. You will feel like the weight of the world is off your shoulders once your area gets all cleaned up and organized. So glad you met the ladies for lunch, you are such a lovley bunch. Hugs to you Teresa, and by the way you look great.

  10. This post should have been titled "The Teresa Kasner Yarn Store" lol. Why is it that a big stash of yarn to a crocheter or knitter is like a big pile of leaves to a child, ya just want to jump right in and hide yourself in it. Heavens, I love it, and it looks perfect in your pie safe. Kristi has unleashed more work for you. I think it is great that you have such a variety to play around with. You know me, I'm a scrappy yarn girl by heart. The fun you must be having with the blogger friends, and how nice that you girls get together now and then for a chat session and to have lunch. You all look great and I love that you wore your colorful shawl. It is so pretty. Hope you have a good week. It has rained the past 4 days here, and today it was a real down pour. I went to visit my mom and came home to crochet on a shawl......more about that in my next post.

  11. Pretty impressive yarn stash there Teresa!!! I need to find something that I can keep all of mine in so that it is one place.
Sounded like a perfect Sunday over there today. It was a very hot and window weekend. I didn't do a darn thing. I watch three movies yesterday while I crocheted. Greg was out of town, but is back tonight.
Loved seeing the photo of all of you ladies!!

  12. Hello Teresa! I'm home!!! We just got in about an hour ago and decided I needed to see if you posted progress on your studio and look at that! Your yarn is all organized! It is looking beautiful my friend. I almost got Hubby to stop by as we passed the Corbett exit but I figured it could be construed as slightly rude to just pop in and we were also running a little late. As it was, it was after dark when we got home. Never fear, our return trip is already being planned for Christmas so maybe we can all see each other again then. :-)
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  17. Nice to see you ladies together. I know you had a fabulous time visiting. I definitely would have those French doors swung wide open enjoying that gorgeous weather. It's hot and windy here which is kicking up dust so won't be going for my walk this evening. Think I'll grab a ball of yarn and start crocheting. I probably have just about as much as you but it's certainly not organized. :/ Have a great week. Tammy
