Baby Hat and Giveaway Thank You

Remember the baby hat I made recently for my friend's new baby?  Well, our two grandsons were invited to this baby's older brother's birthday party so along with our gift for the birthday boy I wrapped this little hat up to deliver!  It just fit!  I love being able to make a baby gift myself.  The little guys name is Jediah.  He looks a lot like his grandpa!

The party theme was ninjas so each kid got a ninja hat.. they were having lots of fun!  I got to hold the baby and it was so neat to have a little one in my arms again.  But as soon as he started fussing, I gave him back.  LOL!  Do you see my 2 little grandsons?

After the party we went to Costco.. on a Sunday.. oh my.. but we managed to get through it all and out unscathed.  Dayle walked all around the huge store in good order, so I was happy about that.  On the way home from the big shopping trip I pulled over to get a photo of our local dragon.  It's the two tone camellias that I wanted to get a photo of, actually.

Aren't these pretty flowers?

When we got home I noticed that the first blossoms on the Star Magnolia tree were open.. :-)

I love the lichen and moss covered branches of this tree and the furry bud covers.

The Daphne bush is absolutely covered with blooms this year.. a great showing and the smell is off the charts!

I wish blogs had "smell-a-vision"!

I finished the book below - thanks Gracie!  It was a good read and I felt I learned some things.  I can recommend it for sure!

Now, a big *T*H*A*N*K* * *Y*O*U*!*!*!* to Koralee from the blog "Bluebird Notes"!  I won her recent giveaway and just received the package.  What a generous and special gift from a lovely and kind and sweet blog friend!  She sent 5 of her photo design postcards, 3 spools of sparkly ribbon, some fun pinwheel stickers and the cutest little bag of the sweetest little buttons.. and a precious handwritten note.  I am so lucky to have such a nice friend!  Please do click on the link above and visit her blog.  Each time she posts I am enraptured by her photos and her encouraging sentiments.  Thanks, Koralee!

The ribbon spools even have her own logo on them!

The cards were wrapped in tissue and tied with a cotton lace ribbon.. how sweet.

Koralee's designs have been published in many magazines.. she's quite a rock star in my opinion.  :-)

Tomorrow I swim with Gracie and Friday we are having a blog girl's lunch.  Betsy is bringing a doily she made for my baby grand piano to give to me.. I'm so excited!!  It will be Gracie, Betsy, Taci and I and maybe a new NW blog girl.. fun huh?  Today I got my Medicare card and a new military ID to go with it.  Dayle is a retired officer of the Army so we both get military ID.  OK, time to rest after a day of running errands.  I hope your week is going well.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. Look at that baby in his beautiful new hat! So cute. I'm the same, I love to hold babies but I give them back when the crying starts. I'm only just past that phase in my daily life and I like to savor it. Haha. The giveaway prize is lovely, I like her blog too. Love seeing all those flowers around you. The dragon is cool too! My son's school mascot is a dragon so I always pay attention to them when I see them. Hope you have fun at the blog get-together tomorrow. I've been reading about that wonderful doily and I am sure you will love it. :)

  3. Now I wish we had "smell-a-vision" for your pretty Daphne bush, too, Teresa :) I loved seeing a close up of the two toned Camellias, and the beautiful Star Magnolia...as well as the lichen and moss. Spring! Ahhhhhh! While I was swimming yesterday my family told me we had two hail showers, and when I got home the poor Daffodils were beaten down :( Some are recovering :) The book is one I have reread a number of times...it seems to help me pause to consider what I value most in life. I'm glad: the boys enjoyed the b'day party; your cute little hat found its owner; you survived Costco yet again; and you won Koralee's lovely give away! xx

  11. I read the Amish book also and loved it! I think, though, that I idealized the Amish, and now am a little disappointed in Amish reality. But they still have beautiful quilts!

Oh what a most lovely give way you won. Congrats. Such lovely items. Thank you as well for the blog link. It's always nice to find new blogs.

I will confess when you said she was a rock star, I thought she must be pretty special, because you know I think that of you! I always look at you as an artist that I admire...to me you are a rock star! :)

Awesome news about Dayle walking and getting better. :)

  14. I wish we had "smell a vision" blogs too Teresa. No flowers blooming yet in my part of the world. That is such a cute baby hat. Perfect for the little guy. I try to be at Costco when the doors open on a weekday. It's not nearly as crowded. A Sunday shopping trip? No way! I would love to borrow Gracie's book and mail it back to her. Could you bring it Friday and I'll ask her? I'm looking forward to Friday and seeing you girls.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
