Hello! I hope you're having a lovely weekend. We are all doing our own thing around here today. I met my DIL Beth and 2 grandsons Mike and Gabe at a department store so I could buy Mike some new clothes for his birthday gift. That was fun. Dayle and Travis are working on the upstairs bedroom remodel. I am going to try a dessert recipe from Pammy Sue's blog - Blondie brownies with marshmallows. The Iris bloomed below - I planted the clump of bulbs 10 years ago at the top of our creek - and it never once bloomed. So last summer we moved them down to my iris bed and look! One bloom! And it's gorgeous! Yay!
Yesterday I picked up my car from service - the AC was out. It's now fixed and then I headed to the pool for my swim workout with Gracie. Today on my way home from grocery shopping I 4-wheeled out into the pasture to get this shot of the house in Spring. We certainly have some large trees here, don't we? And we've had 8 big ones removed over the last several years due to trees dying or leaning.
On my way into town I spied this field of Lupine next to the Fire Hall in Springdale and made a mental note to get a photo on my way home.
These are in a big cow pasture. Zooooom...
The farm on a lovely day.. lots of sun breaks in the clouds and it's 64 degrees now at 4 pm. Very pleasant.
Oregon is very green. :-)
Big white Rhodie with purple markings.
Zoom.
Kristi had a hankering for snow crab so this was dinner the other night. They were good!
I thought I'd show you how the remodel of our upstairs bedroom is going. I love the bright yellow and Dayle is repainting all the trim which used to be dark stained pine. It's SOOOO much brighter! The carpet will be installed on Wednesday and then we'll be putting in a queen size bookcase headboard bed that was my Mom's and my antique "Princess Dresser".
I have some curtains I will wash up and iron to hang on the windows above the alcove.
So, time to get busy baking. Our older son got his wife a puppy for Mother's day and they are coming to visit tomorrow.. to show us the pup and hang out for a while. It will be nice to have something for them made by me. Have a super weekend! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
It sounds like a perfect weekend day, everyone doing their own thing. Love all the photos, that iris is amazing.
ReplyDeleteHi to Dayle!
Merediht
our rhodie bush is beautiful! I need to go out and take a photo of it. Somehow I'm gonna do an overlay of my granddaughter and rhodie bush. Her birthday is in 10 days. We were at her family party today, a bit early but that's what happens when you are born near a holiday! Love all your flowers. There's alot of red clover fields in bloom right now as well around her! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow and that window seat/alcove is fabulous! Your property is heavenly--such a peaceful place. Beautiful iris--we have some by our upper, smaller pond and I really love them!
ReplyDeleteYikes. Got to go--road trip:)
Blessings,
Aimee

ReplyDeletePerfect. The farm is looking beautiful and I love the bright happy yellow wall color. :-). I showed my mom-in-law the recipe for Pammy Sue's marshmallow blondes and if we're ever home for a day we may make them too. They look yummy.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy

Looking forward to seeing the finished room. Lovely flowers.
ReplyDeleteRosezeeta.
That purple iris bloom is so pretty. Looks like Dayle could use a blondie brownie or two and some coffee. He doesn't look very happy in that picture. He just needs a perk-up! I can't wait to see the room when it's done. Hope y'all enjoyed the brownies as much as we did. I ate the last one yesterday afternoon. Looking forward to some puppy pictures!
ReplyDeleteThe field with the lupine in it is so pretty! Have fun with the new puppy! What kind did they get?
ReplyDeleteTeresa, your photos make me want to get in the car and head straight up the coast to Oregon! I fell in love with Oregon, and I would love to live there! So green, and pretty. Your farm is lovely, and it is my hope that one day I can visit! What is the plan for the new remodel upstairs?
ReplyDeleteMy iris did not do well this Spring. Only two bloomed. This has never happened before!
Have fun with the kids today. LOVED this post and pics!!!
Hugs,
Kris
