Happy Valentines Day! Our day is starting out sweet and is destined to get even better! :-) Dayle gave me this perfect Valentine -- he said when he saw it it reminded him of the heart brooch I made and looked no further. I *ADORE* it! We took the boys out for dinner last night and we got them a fudge cake for dessert - then went to the drug store and got them a little heart shaped box of chocolates. I just gave them to them with one of my cards and they were so happy! Dayle and I have reservations at Bumpers Grill for dinner - I see a perfect filet mignon in our future.
Dayle brought in the mail and there was a padded envelope and when I opened it, it was a wonderful Valentine card from my dear blog friend Robin at My Nest of Yarn and Buttons blog!!
A very sweet message in the card and this wonderful photo album with the cutest quote on it - which I really agree with. :-)
So, ladies, remember to go have fun and don't overdo at home. LOL!! Thank you Robin! What a doll! I do hope you go visit her blog - she's a very sweet friend, a super knitter and a wonderful mom and grandmother.
I finished Hat #9! This is a fun and colorful one - good for a boy or a girl, too.
I am working on hat #10 now - a purple one - then I will give them to Taci and start working on something else. I wonder what? Maybe a few more flowers for my flower shawl? Or something with the new cotton I ordered? The choices are endless and exciting! Which one is your favorite?
Yesterday was a brilliantly sunny day and so warm that I didn't need a coat to go to the swimming pool. When I returned home I was happy to see the daffodils almost ready to burst forth!
We brought many daffodil bulbs to this farm place when we moved here over 30 years ago.. they have done quite well at spreading. Funny story - Dayle saw that someone had dumped a large amount of bulbs over an embankment near the railroad tracks and he saw them while driving the train. After work, he drove back to that spot and picked up as many as he could carry. We love them!
As I was walking around getting photos of the daffodils, I noticed that the Clematis was growing! Look at that tender new growth!
The Creeping Myrtle is also in bloom!
I spied two daffies that were very close to popping open!
A little zoom... I love how the creek and rocks are fuzzy, it brings the daffodil into sharp contrast. I was happy with this image.
I hope you're having a day full of love and happiness. I'll let you know how the steak was.. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Happy Valentines Day to you also. It looks like you are off to a great start.
ReplyDeleteGood Morninfg and Happy Valentine's Day Teresa. Love the perfect card from Dayle and your sweet gift for Robin. We went out for breakfast this morning and then I cut Dennis' hair. Now I'm baking cookies and he's out towing s friends trailer to a new location with our truck. We're hoping to get into Olive Garden for an early dinner, but if not, it will be Panda Express! :-). We like both so it really doesn't matter to us. I know he loves me and that's what is important. Hope your day is a wonderful one.
ReplyDeleteBlessings my sweet friend,
Betsy
Another lovely hat. My favourite is the one with the dusky pink flower at 11 o'clock, so pretty. I hope you and Dayle have a wonderful Valentine's day. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteA perfect Valentine's Day! Love that Dayle is always so thoughtful in his selection of gifts for you! I know Ribin, and she is a sweetheart! I love the card from you!!!!! And of course, the perfect red heart you crocheted!! Enjoy that filet!!

Your daffs are just ahead of ours I think, though there is a hint of spring around :) You've done an amazing job with the hats, doing a few is next on my list :)

Happy Valentine's Day! Your flowers look so great. Nice to see them in bloom.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines Day Teresa. We had a lovely one. So nice to see all the signs of Spring. Hope you enjoyed your dinner date. Hugs Anne x
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely Valentines Day. I love all your hats but I think today's is my fave. So bright and cheery. Wish I could take pictures like you - maybe I should play with my camera more, rather than the iPhone. xox
ReplyDeleteThank you Teresa for the shout out and the kind words! You are truly a wonderful person and all the things you said I was, plus a wonderful crocheter! So happy you enjoyed your package and that your "V" day was special. I cannot believe all the greenery you have, I'm envious......so thank you for sharing!

Wow! I didn't know Dayle was a train driver as well as a pilot! Hope you had a super valentines day. Cnx
ReplyDeleteI just adore anything by Susan Branch. What a nice surprise for you! Your yard is blooming like mine. It doesn't know it's only February because we've had such a mild winter. One more chance for snow this coming week. We are supposed to get a blast of cold weather again. I'm glad you had a nice Valentines Day! You deserve it.
ReplyDeleteLove that album and yes, house work really can kill you...I keep telling Hubby that all the time...a lot can go wrong with an electric sweeper...just saying. :) Sounds like you had a fab Valentine's Day. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a good day, Teresa! Dayle did find the perfect card, and I love the story about how he found your daffodils. It is hard to pick a favorite hat because I like them all, but the lime green one and the variegated pink and green one are the ones my eyes keep focusing on. I love seeing your flowers springing forth! I had ice on my windshield this morning and my car thermometer said it was 34 degrees??? xx
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a nice Valentine's Day, Teresa. It's so nice to see your daffodils, the farm is going to be full of flowers in a few weeks. The hat looks lovely, you're very talented. I noticed your comment on my blog about my new posts now showing up in your sidebar; I don't know why that would be, but maybe the gadget has a problem? Sometimes those gadgets have bugs that cause them to work incorrectly for a little while. I wish I knew otherwise. I mostly use Bloglovin' to read blog posts, my Blogger dashboard feed and sidebar list both work poorly a lot of the time lately. I hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, uplifting post as always, Teresa. Glad you had a nice Valentine's Day, and I love all the pretty hats you made! Love the picture of them in a circle. :) Thanks for sharing your daffodil pics. It'll probably be close to two months before I'll be able to do so. lol
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a great Valentine's Day! Aren't all of our spring in winter blooms wonderful? So LOVING this weather:) Love all of your baby hats--amazing variety! Have a great week--I'll be working in our garden tomorrow after some weekend outings.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Aimee
All your wee hats are lovely - impossible to pick a favourite. I'm making some too - think I have 8 done now and started my ninth.
ReplyDeleteDayle picked you out a lovely card. Another thing, just proves that he does truly notice your work and remembered how similar the card was to your heart that you made. Love all the pics you share of the new growth and life on your farm. I wish I could share something similar, but alas, there is snow and so much cold. There hasn't even been much traffic on the road and they are asking people to stay home in this frigid weather. Aren't blogger friends the best, not so much for the gifts they send, but for being there to listen to us whether we are in a good or bad mood. The added bonus is a surprise gift and they make our day extra special on those occasions. Have a great week. Can't wait to see what you are working on next. Oh, all the hats are cute, hard to pick a favorite.
ReplyDeleteSusanne :)
The ink pot and stamps card is lovely, what a sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteIt's still cold here and iron grey skies - England's famous for these after all - but I sense Spring and blue skies are heading our way. Soon. Please!
All the hats together are so very cute. You are right they are addicting and it's very hard to pick the cutest... But if I had to I think the orange one is one of my favorites ... So happy. I love the card Dayle picked for you and he is right ... It does look like your broch . Spring is really approaching isn't ? I love daffodils and how bright and yellow they are... Can't wait when they start blooming :)
