Joining Jennifer's Winter Project Link Party

Hello! I'm joining in the fun of Jennifer at Thistlebear blog - we're sharing our winter projects to cheer each other along.  I have three projects to share, two are WIPs (Works in Progress) and one is new.  Let's start with my neat ripple (design courtesy of Lucy at Attic24 blog) blanket that I'm making to give to my niece Jessica as a wedding gift.  They are already married, so I need to Get. This. Done.   :-)  I am doing this is Premier Home cotton in beige and cream.  I usually do more colorful things but I thought this neutral color would blend in with any decor.  I hope they like it!  (I should have smoothed out those wrinkles! :-)

My second WIP is my natural white 100% pure alpaca shawl that I've been working on... for a while... :-)  I'm nearly done with the body of the shawl and will soon get to the lacy edging/border.  First I will finish the blanket, then this for winter wearing.

And then.. I blame Meredith and her blog list.. I was clicking through and visiting her blog pals and came across one that showed her skein of yarn she bought on Etsy from TwoBlackSheepYarn.  As my eyes scanned down the different color combinations ... ZING.. this one grabbed me.  I emailed the sellers and asked if they could show me how the yarn knits up.. and that was it.. *click* *pay* and it will soon be winging it's way from California to me.  :-)

This is the "Reverse Psychology" pattern that the seller is working on in this colorway.. which is called.. "I'll Get You My Pretty".  Isn't that clever?  Tell me if you know that line..

  9. Busy hands make light work. But that only works if you have more than one set of hands, LOL
Love gradient yarns ~ they help move along any project.
Have you had any luck identifying your spinning wheels maker & origin?

  14. All such lovely projects. I think the neat ripple pattern is so addictive, I've used it twice so far but I'm sure I'll use it again. Your shawl is so pretty, it looks very delicate and what a zingy colour is that new yarn. I know that line, it's from The Wizard of Oz. Nice to find you through Jennifer's link party, I'm joining in too.

  16. "... and your little dog, too!" Scary witch from the Wizard of Oz. Loved/terrified by that movie when I was young. Love it now still as an adult. Possibly why I'm terrified of tornadoes even though I've never lived though one.

  19. Came here via Jennifer. I made four of those Elise shawls due to Meredith! They need a good block though. I put a beaded edge on mine. Yours is going to be fabulous. Jo x#

  22. And your little dog too! Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha.....

Oh how she terrified me when I was little. I could never watch all the way through the movie.

What a stunning shawl! Is that the pattern you'll be making too? :)

  24. You can blame me for anything as long as it involves yarn, and that line is from the Wizard of OZ, I am a true fan of that movie.
