I had to tell you how the Malted Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Tart came out! Well.. it may be one of the best desserts EVER! You can click on the name above to get the recipe, and no, I'm not being paid to promote this. You would not have to buy the special tart pan and you can use cheaper milk chocolate if you choose. I also showed Kristi how easy it is to make homemade whipped cream. We worked together to make it before serving the tart. The tart was so creamy and with the crunchy crust.. num num.
Kristi decided to try again making homemade lasagna. Her past attempts came out soupy. But she googled for the "best lasagna recipe ever" and made this, even the sauce was from scratch and it turned out PERFECT and delicious!
She used Italian sausage and hamburger, it was delicious. If you want the recipe, let me know and I'll post it next time. She also ordered from King Arthur a sourdough bread mix and made it to go with dinner. What a feast it was!
My blog friend Betsy was passing through on the way to the beach with her husband and so we decided to meet at Tad's Chicken 'n Dumplins for dinner. Gracie joined us. It was our first time to meet Betsy's husband Dennis. We all had a great dinner and chatted away, I invited everyone back to our farmhouse to visit longer. We gifted Betsy and Dennis with some of the smoked salmon we made and Travis put together a bag of crackers and cookies from where he works at Nabisco. A perk of having a blog is making new friends.
When we pulled into the farm yard this brilliant sunset greeted us. So pretty!
I'm not swimming today as Dayle and I are off to see if I can find a new iPhone for me as my 2 year contract ends today. Wish me luck to find one. I want the Rose Gold color. :-) ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Oh yum, it all looks absolutely delicious, especially that chocolate tart. I bet it would be scrumptious with plain chocolate as well. It sounds as though you've been having a good time. I hope you get the iPhone that you're after. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteThat sunset is beautiful isn't it! How great that you and Kristi are enjoying cooking together and that she is learning new recipes! xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunset and yummy looking lasagne and dessert. A lovely photo of you all. Hugs Anne x
ReplyDeleteWhat a great friend you have in your daughter in law spending time cooking together is wonderful. The tart looks delicious! Good luck with your hunt for the perfect phone.
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful time with all of you. The tart was "fantabulous" and the salmon...oh my goodness! Thank you so much for the bag of goodies that Travis sent with us. We've been eating the salmon on the Nabisco crackers. Yummy. The whales were performing for us very well yesterday. This morning there has been rain but the beach is still beautiful. Thank you again for your hospitality.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Lots of good cooking going on. Enjoy x
ReplyDeleteI used to love making and eating lasagna. It's the perfect dinner that just gets better the next night. I would make it in the morning before work and throw it in the oven when I arrive back home. It used to be my go-to dish to give when people needed dinners made to help out.
ReplyDeleteI should revisit my recipe to see if I can alter it for my food sensitivities.
Yummy Teresa! AND that sky was magnificent! Good luck on the phone search, I always get excited when my contract is up and I get to get a new iPhone!

That lasagna looks divine! I always use the Pioneer Woman's recipe.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sunset!! I've been enjoying all your fall photos. The best time of the year! Of course, we'd gratefully appreciate the lasagna recipe. Looks perfect. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMmmmm. It's dinner time and your food looks so good! [Tim is making us salmon cakes!] I had a wonderful visit with all of you and I took a photo of the sunset on my way home on 302nd street and just now posted it. Your sunset photo is so pretty with the trees in it. Our cameras caught the true color as I remember it. Amazing! xx
ReplyDeleteYum to the lasagna! We just had some tonight, but alas it was not homemade. I hope you got your rose gold iPhone--sounds pretty. Great group picture:)
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Aimee
That is a great picture of the 5 of you. How wonderful that you were able to spend time together.

What a fantastic sunset! The tart and lasagna both look very tasty.
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys eat so well at your house! Every dish you share looks amazing. I thought of you this weekend when my mother-in-law served a pasta dish with smoked salmon for dinner. It was delicious and I think you would have liked it. It had a lot of garlic and mushrooms in a cream sauce. You only needed a small helping because it was so rich but boy was it good! I'm glad you were able to have a nice dinner out with the whole gang. I love that photo of all of you. I hope you're having a good week so far.
ReplyDeleteOh those hours in thePHONE store...wishing you well. LOVE your sunset and this post
ReplyDeleteThe food Kristi made looks delicious! How nice that you were able to get together with some blogging friends. Love the sunset pic....gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteJust love Tad's with it's unique sign.
ReplyDeleteSuch fun for all of you. By the way, I just drooled on my keyboard looking at the delights of yummy food at your house.
