We hang this guy up each year for Halloween, a paper lantern pumpkin. He brightens the dark evenings in the dining room very well. He's starting to show his age with a tear in his forehead but I've decided that it just adds to his scary demeanor. :-)
I haven't gotten all my Halloween decorations out this year for some reason, but have a nice little group of things on the dining room table.
When I arrived home from swimming on Friday I saw that the Pin Oak tree had turned to it's peak red color. Good thing I snapped a few photos then because on Saturday the rain and wind blew most of these down! :-)
This tree delivers an amazing amount of leaf-age to the ground.. but it sure does look gorgeous for that brief moment in time of perfection. :-)
I've done more work on the Corner-to-Corner (C2C) project and I'm kind of thinking it might make a nice scarf/shawl instead of a blanket.. what do you think?
The more I work with this yarn the more I love it. It's colors stripe out so beautifully and this colorway is called Polo, which doesn't make much sense to me. If you missed the name of it, it's Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable. We had a girl's lunch yesterday to celebrate my younger sister Denise's birthday and I gave her 2 skeins of this yarn in the Stained Glass color-way. It's beautiful, all in jewel tones. She's going to make a scarf using my shell stitch pattern I came up with.
Denise, her husband, daughter and her daughter's significant other went to Disneyland a few weeks ago. She brought back a pair of Buzz Lightyear toys that have spinning lights when you squeeze the legs together.. lol! Can you believe how fast these two are growing up? If you're new to my blog - our son and his family live with us. These are our two grandsons, Hayden and Caleb.
Here is a fun photo.. our feral cat we're feeding, we've named him Simba.. and new to the menagerie is a baby possum. Apparently Simba is okay with the little possum partaking of his food. :-) So, now Kristi has two critters to feed.
If you celebrate Halloween, I hope you have a good one! I'm off to swim this afternoon. What are your plans today? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
