Hello friends.. I thought I would take a few snapshots around the house this morning and share them with you. I took pictures of just some of my favorite ornaments on the tree. This is one I crocheted a few years ago. Have you made one of these?
Here is my very newest decoration.. :-) One of Santa's helper elves taking a selfie with a gnome/elf. It's a Dept 56 piece that goes with the North Pole Village. I could not resist it when I saw it on Amazon. It's tiny, just a few inches tall.
I hang these little wreathes on the china cabinet every single year.. do you see what is showing in the center of the wreath? My knitting bunny Royal Doulton figurine. :-) I keep my small collection of bunnies in the cabinet until Easter and they come out onto the dining table.
I opened the cabinet and here is half of my Jadeite collection and I crocheted the lace shelf edging years ago after I got this antique oak china cabinet from a friend of my mom's.
This is how I display my Christmas cards that are sent to me.. how do you display yours?
We have a garland and lights up the stair railing.. and a bunch of stockings that I've collected over the years.. oops.. the one on the right is backwards and I didn't notice until now.. :-)
We have a wreath on the inside AND outside of the back door. Do you put a wreath on your door?
I got this sailboat with Santa on eBay and was rather shocked when it arrived at how big it is! LOL!
The ornament with an English flag design is in honor of my English ancestors AND my blog friends from England. :-)
Dayle surprised me with this cute ornament 2 years ago - it's extra sweet as he got it because he thought it looked like both of us. I loved it so much that I used this image on our Christmas cards.
I got this one on one of our weeklong stays at the beach in our trailer/caravan. :-)
This is a vintage carousel ornament that if you press a lever on the bottom it plays a Christmas carol music-box style.
I have a small collection of these cherub angels in the middle, I've had that old wood carved Santa one for years and Kristi just gave me the fuzzy snowman one this year.
I found this hand sewn little ornament of all places in a Backyard Bird store! I adore it and wish I would do some like this someday.
This is a new lamb ornament that came leaping from the other side of the country.. he's so cute.. I love him. Thank you. :-)
This is a project I made designed by Lucy at Attic24 blog. I used sparkly yarn.
A Hibiscus is in bloom this morning.. illuminated by the sun.. there is not a cloud in the sky today.
We are going to run a few errands today.. but we're pretty set for the big weekend. Dayle went to Costco yesterday and got our ham but we need to go to the regular grocery store today to get the potatoes and a few other thing. Are you all set? Such a glorious time of year, I just love it!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

ReplyDeleteYour home looks charming, so many meaningful ornaments that I know bring back happy memories. I have to say that I am a bit "green" with envy of your Jadeite collection . . . Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE This post. Oh the selfie guys!! I love any gizmo that makes music lights up or is childlike!
ReplyDeleteAl and zach are here. Cookies are made. SIs in law and hubby visited our kids today. They came all the way up just to see our kids and brought CHicago pizzas to them and bundt cakes. I want to eat everything. It is so good to see my kids. SUch a gift. Al and I will make gingerbread houses tonight!
Your decorations are so pretty. I think the baking people ornament does look a little like you two! How sweet. I love the camper ornament too. :)
ReplyDeleteYour home certainly has that real festive look. Everything is so bright and shiny. I loved seeing all your tree ornaments as well as the beautiful wreath on your china cabinet. We still have the vegetable shopping to do but my daughter will be doing that, hopefully. Have a very happy Christmas. Xox
ReplyDeleteI am waiting to hear if I am working Saturday afternoon. If not, then I am doing prime rib. If I have to, then maybe fresh crabs from Tony's.
ReplyDeleteAnd, apparently Monday is an holiday. Mgmt forgot to let us know. Knowing the post office, we'll probably be running amazon parcels that day. Let's see, I wish to know my schedule ahead of time.....I've been a good girl...
So many pretty things in your home Teresa! I love the trailer ornament as it's still a dream to live in our trailer someday. We're as ready as can be for Christmas. The best part will be church and the celebration there. I do have a small ham to put in the crockpot before we go though.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
It looks nice and so Christmasy at your house!! I found our Christmas card on your doorway! I'm putting finishing touches on a few things for our party at work tomorrow. Enjoyed your special ornaments. Merry Christmas my friend!! €**(:V)
ReplyDeleteI can see why these are your favourite things, you have some beautiful and meaningful ornaments. Thank you for sharing how you hang your cards, such a good idea. Such a lovely post and always a pleasure to visit.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty ornaments Teresa! And your house looks so cheerful and festive. Enjoy the holiday and stay warm!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good visit, Teresa. I got a roast beef, but we still have not figured out the rest of our menu...yours sounds so good! My cards are in a basket where I can dip in to take them out and reread them, but I like how you display your cards...like my mom did...I lack a doorway in my room. I am cheering both of us on to get rid of our colds! Wishing you and yours happy days. xxxxxx
ReplyDeleteThat decoration looks so like you and Dayle! Love it. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas. CN x
ReplyDeleteYou have some lovely ornaments, and I love the one that looks like you and Dayle....so sweet! I am still trying to find the perfect way to display cards....at the moment they are standing about in different places but I hope to put them up on a string soon! Merry Christmas!

Your home looks very festive Teresa. Hugs to you and Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteYou have so many wonderful ornaments! I really, really, really love that first crochet one! I would love to have the pattern for that one if you still have it. All my ornaments got lost in the move :-( so I need to start over with new ones. I just love the look of crochet and knit ones don't you?
