We're getting 1 or 2 eggs a day now. Our good little hens are giving us these beauties. We'd gotten some acrylic egg holders in the past but when we put them through the dishwasher they melted. So I found these porcelain ones on Amazon, I got two and they're working great for us.
We plan to get some chicks when the kids get home from Disneyland. Kristi already got a brooder and light. We plan to put them in the old clawfoot bathtub in the guest bath. That should be interesting!
Thanks for the good wishes for me to battle my way out of this bronchitis. You are all so kind and thoughtful. The kids will return on Sunday. I look forward to hearing all about their trip and how much they enjoyed Disneyland. They got to visit our other son, Shawn, and his family in Temecula. They all celebrated the boys birthday at Legoland! Fun times for the kids and grandkids. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Youreggs look wonderful and I like the egg tray. I just keep our "store bought" eggs in. A wicker basket in the fridge. How fun to have new chicks. It will be fun watching them grow. How do you think the old girls will accept them. I'll bet you're looking forward to having the kids home. Feel better.

Beautiful eggs, it must be brilliant to have your own hens. Something I'd like to do one day. I hope everyone had a good time in Disneyland, and I hope that you're completely better very soon. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sight! Must be such fun to gather up! Great times at Disney I'm sure! xoRobin
ReplyDeleteI was away in Sydney this past week and have just caught up reading your blog posts. Hope that bronchitis has cleared up by now. Gosh those photos looks so 'wintery' - quite dramatic indeed. Great to hear that your family is having fun at Disneyland - wonderful photo that is sure to provide wonderful memories in the future. Your little hens are good girls - love those green eggs. Do you eat them with ham ?? :)
ReplyDeleteRest up before everyone returns tomorrow. Healing wishes!
ReplyDeleteI love the different shapes and sizes of your hens eggs. Makes me wonder how many eggs are wasted in the industry, all eggs we buy are almost indistinguishable from each other. I hope you continue to get better over the next few days. x
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling much better. Everyone around here in Oklahoma has something. So much going around. Get well soon,

Such pretty eggs. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteI know just how great fresh eggs are, and you are a lucky lady! There are farms all around our lakehouse and the kids and I would get up early every morning and we could buy fresh eggs from the folks. They didn't advertise or have a set up...just word of mouth, bring your own empty carton and get them for a song. Such delicious breakfasts and happy memories for my kids and I!
ReplyDeleteYour eggs are sure darn Purdy!! :)

Those are such pretty pastel colored eggs! Our neighbor gives us eggs from their chickens but they are just a light brown color. They're so good though!
ReplyDeleteI sure wish you were feeling better Teresa. SOunds like the family had a great time together and on their trip to Disneyland. Rest my friend.
ReplyDeleteYeah for chicks i can watch grow up in your posts. I plan to stop for eggs at a nearby farm this week. Why buy store eggs when we can have fresh??? Happy grands homecoming.
ReplyDeleteI like yourngreen eggs. Now you just need ham!! :*} It's another beautiful day where we live. Just as warm as Friday. Hope you're feeling better each day. I am finally sleeping better which helps the days go better. If my skin issue would just go away completely I'd really be ok. One day at a time til we all get better. Legoland would be fun. Megan would be happy to go there some time. She is still a Lego maniac!! Take care and have a good week. :{}:
