Merry Christmas 2017

We awoke to a dusting of snow yesterday.  There is more this morning!  I hope to get another photo later that is snowier!  :-)  Travis went to pick up Dayle yesterday morning and he is getting a bit better, but still needs some help getting up.. but for now he's cozy by the fire in his easy chair watching "Knightfall" on History Channel and cruising through Facebook on his laptop.  :-)

But I'm ahead of myself.. this was the view out the French doors of our bedroom yesterday when I awoke.  I rarely have my iPhone by the bed but had it there in case Dayle needed me to come and get him.  Our son informed me that he was going, so I had time to snap this photo when I arose.

This is looking up the hillside at our closest neighbor house and their little red barn.  Dayle has kept this part of our woods cleared and mows it with his tractor.. the ground-cover Periwinkle (Vinca Minor) has spread all through this area which is pretty in the Spring.

Our Christmas lights are not elaborate and are a bit uneven, but I still love the effect and the little laser with colorful stars has been a fun addition this year.

I put my coat, hat and shawl on for a walkabout last evening at dusk to get these photos.. loved seeing the bit of snow on the ground.

The Sword fern looks neat dusted with snow.

Goodnight, moon.

The golden lights of warmth in our home beckon me in, the sentiment on the wreath on our door speaks of my wishes for 2018.  Peace.. and a ceasing of the upheaval in our country and around the world.

I was surfing eBay looking for a Santa and sleigh like this one for my sister who was interested in finding one.. and found that I only had 3 reindeer and 4 were issued - so the 2nd from the left has come to complete my herd.  :-)

Last but not least.. Kristi had told me she'd seen a pair of red headed woodpeckers a few days ago.. well.. yesterday Shawn said.. look at that!  There is a red bird out there.. behind us out the bay window.  So, I grabbed my good camera and Kristi was able to get a quick snap of this!  OMGoodness!  Look at this!  We've identified it as Red Breasted Sapsucker.  :-)  Isn't it gorgeous?

I almost never post on a Sunday but tomorrow will be way too busy with Christmas celebrating.  So, I wanted to take this time to wish you and your family the very best of days.  My readers, my friends, are one of the best parts of blogging.  Thank you for visiting me in my little corner of cyberspace.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I'm so glad someone got snow. (harumph for the Canbyland banana belt)
Beautiful red sapsucker. I traipsed outside today to put more thistle seed in the bird feeder for my cold little yellow finches.

  4. I’m so glad that Dayle is safely home and able to enjoy the festivities tomorrow. I enjoyed our trip around the farm and your snow photos. We have even more that is supposed to arrive tonight. And...a huge THNAK YOU for the sweet little sheep. I absolutely love her. I’ve decided she is a she. :-). She brightened my day so much when she arrived. Both girls sit on the table right across from my knitting chair. It was so wonderful of you to think of me. I hope your family has a wonderfully Merry Christmas tomorrow.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
