Hi! I left LA Fitness on Wednesday and looked up and the sky and was AMAZED at what I saw! I'd never seen the sky look like this. Apparently a LOT of people were similarly impressed and shared photos on Facebook. I also snapped these with my iPhone. Have you ever seen anything like this?
Our local weatherman informed us that these are called "Undulatus Asperatus" (old name) or "Asperitas" clouds. They look like cotton-candy or an upside down wave-filled ocean. Just this past year the World Meteorological Organization approved the new name (Asperitas). They are caused by wave-like motions at the base of the clouds.
Truthfully it was a bit frightening.. what do you think?
Kristi got a new vacuum and was so excited about it, here she is showing it off to us. You gotta love a daughter-in-law who likes to vacuum. :-) This is a Shark - what kind do you use?
Last night was our grandson Hayden's "Strings Concert". I was properly amazed by how MANY kids in our school are playing string instruments! Our Hayden is there, 3rd in on the left.
What is neat is his best friend plays with him. Aren't they cute?
The middle school and high school players joined in, I estimate 75-100 kids. I've emailed the strings director at school to find out exactly how many. (ETA - 105 kids played last night!)
Concentrating on reading the music. :-)
Concert over, bows and bravos! Love these boys!
I am all set for the rally and march tomorrow. I got a new rain jacket, found my pink cat hat, and now I've been driving myself a bit crazy trying to figure out what to put on my "protest" sign. Any suggestions?? HELP!! I got some florescent pink foam core board and a BIG black marker.. now to decide on my message. Have a great weekend!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
The clouds are amazing! I have been thinking if I ever need a new vacuum I would try a Shark, and will be interested to see how you like it. It is wonderful that the boys are interested in music and that lessons are available for them. How about "Love Wins" for your sign? xxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteI've seen those clouds too and they make me wonder what's going on! Not had them til this year. Hmmmmm! I have a Shark Navigator I got a couple years ago. I like it. Our old one gave up the ghost after so many years and we tried to fix it but didn't happen. Nice concert for Hayden and his friends. Good job and thankful they still have music for the children! Yes, Love Wins for a sign is good!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a sky like that before, the clouds are an amazing sight. Lovely to see photos of the concert. Keep warm and stay safe tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAmazing cloud formations Teresa. Great to see Hayden enjoying his music, such a wonderful hobby for life.Enjoy your weekend, hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteHow sweet to see your grandson playing the violin. My two older ones played the cello, the younger ones show no interest in learning an instrument. We have a Miele vacuum cleaner, a pull along. I remember my excitement when we got it, what a difference it made. Sam destroyed the old one. He had been sick and instead of telling me, he hoovered the mess up, then thought it might smell and proceeded to fill the bathroom sink with water and sucked this up to wash the hose. I am glad to report he didn't kill himself but the vacuum cleaner was well dead. Have fun at the march, I hope it is dry and not too cold for you. I like Gracie's suggestion for your sign. xx
ReplyDeleteAwesome clouds and those boys are so cute and very very clever to not only be able to read music but also play the violin!!! Impressed here in OZ Lovely Kristy looking good with the vacuum hope she is all better now. LOVE WINS sounds great to me xoxo
ReplyDeleteI have a shark vacuum cleaner too. One at the house and one in the trailer. I love them. They last forever. Those clouds are amazing. Did you hear about the rogue wave in Lincoln city that hit Kylos restaurant yesterday? Apparently it knocked out the gas line and they had to be evacuated. I saw video footage of the wave and it was amazing. Very scary. How fun to see the concert. I love it when children learn about music. Stay warm tomorrow. I like Gracie’s suggestion too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings always, Betsy
I've never seen clouds like that either - agree, it would have been a bit scary. Great picture though. We've just bought a new vacuum cleaner too - a Dyson V-8 Animal. Its cordless and has amazing suction - we love it. Stupid eh .. I don't even like housework!! Hayden looks so grown up now. I love it when children have an appreciation of music and hope Oliver wants to learn an instrument when he's a bit older. My other 15yo grandson Ryan has never shown an interest in learning music. The only keyboard he's interested in is the one on his phone.
ReplyDeleteAmazing and beautiful clouds. Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat cloud photo; they were really strange here on Wednesday. Yay for the stringed instruments; it seems like around here its all winds.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful clouds but I agree very spooky. How lovely that your grandsons enjoy playing music. Bet you felt so proud listening to that concert. Have a great weekend. B x
ReplyDelete"Dump Trump" would be a great sign!
ReplyDeleteThose clouds are amazing Teresa and I can see what you mean re scary!! Love seeing the youngsters playing instruments. Our eldest played piano and trombone. Loved going to the concerts and missed them when he went off to Uni. Our youngest granddaughter Phoebe has started cello lessons.
ReplyDeleteI am looking for a new vacuum cleaner. eldest son has a shark - doing research at the moment :-) Thanks for popping by. Yes my mum is still really good mentally. Mobility is a problem :-( x
These were some beautiful images of the clouds, Teresa, and I have spent many hours watching them in various places we've lived. Nice photos of your grandson and his best friend at the school concert.
