There is a Facebook group that I belong to for the Corbett community - the administrators asked for a new Fall photo for the group and I posted a photo of our barn with autumn leaves. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I saw someone else post a photo of our barn during their daughter's wedding across the road from us! I asked her if I could use her image and she gave me her approval. Her name is Kathleen Payne. I admit I did "PhotoShop" the power lines which ran across the image. :-)
And finally... some rain today! They kept saying that it would rain this week and it never came. It's a light rain so far, but they predict heavier rain later today.
I took this photo a few years ago of the barn with the red pin oak and the orange of the chestnut and golds of the weeping birch. Our handyman Richard put a new coat of red on this end of the barn yesterday. We're having him do one side at a time. Next week we might have him do the other end. :-)
Are the leaves turning colors where you live? I know my readers who live in the Southern hemisphere are having Springtime!! So, I'm off to swim in the rainy weather, I hope the pool is warmer! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
What a beautiful photo, you really do have such a lovely home and in such pretty surroundings. The leaves are starting to turn colour and fall here, but there's still quite a lot of green around. Won't be long though! Hope you had a good swim, and have a good weekend. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of your farm! I brought in some maple leaves from one of our trees because they are so pretty in shades of orangey golden red. Have to straighten up the house before next showing...ended up having two yesterday!! Happy Weekend! xx :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo of your barn! It is, as they say, picture perfect! I live in upstate NY and the leaves are just beginning to change here. We will take a ride next week in the hopes of catching "peak" leaf peeping!
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome shot of your lovely barn, Teresa. I think all barns should be red! Ha Ha We have been too warm to see much in the way of leaf change. I do look forward to seeing it happen. I admire your steadfastness to swimming! Enjoy your weekend. ♥
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing your farm. The barn is perfect for a fall photo. I hope they choose it! We’ Still driving. 7 hours so far today but stopping for the night in a couple of hours in Billings.

I do miss Autumn so much. No changing of the leaves here in the desert. The nurseries still haven't gotten in all their plants and flowers because the weather is still hot. Hopefully by the end of the month we will start to see some color. With winter comes our growing season so I am looking forward to that. Your barn is absolutely gorgeous with those colorful fall trees as the backdrop.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful barn and in a perfect setting, you are surrounded by beauty.
ReplyDeleteI could barely see the power line removal in that amazing beautiful photos of your barn!!!!!!! WE have had so much rain. It is kind of dreary. Im trying really hard not to let it get to me. I sometimes wonder if I live in a sunny enough climate.....Our leaves are beginning to turn. Some maples are red and yellow and quite lovely
ReplyDeleteThe barn looks great Teresa. Our leaves our looking very pretty here too, I do love the colours of autumn so much. Hope you are having a lovely weekend, hug xx
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing quite like a red barn. The photo's turned out so pretty, especially with the overcast sky (best time for pics).
ReplyDeleteLoving our rain. Just wish there were more days like Fridays rain. Crossing my fingers for a nice snow this Christmas.
I love the photo of your barn and the turning leaves are just beautiful. xx Susan
ReplyDeleteYour barn, house, front porch, new deck, well it all looks fantastic. I want to walk around with you and admire it all. Have a wonderful week Teresa.
ReplyDeleteI love your red barn Teresa....and I know I’ve told you that before! It always looks so wonderful in your pictures, as does your lovely farmhouse. Always so nice to see the changing seasons where you are. Have a happy week. Xxx
