Roses and Stargazer Lilies...

...and a Sweet Pea Trellis blanket update.  Dayle surprised me yesterday with a lovely bouquet of red roses and our favorite flower, Stargazer Lilies.    Don't they look nice next to the blanket I'm crocheting?

I'm happy to say that the blanket is so big that I had to fold it over for the photo today.  I do love how the colors melt into each other, it actually reminds me of a Mexican serape in a way.

This is actually upside down. :-)

I do so love having flowers on the dining table.. and am thinking towards Spring when I will have bouquets of lilacs from our garden.

Stargazer Lilies, how do I love thee?  Let me count the ways.  :-)

OK, this is right side up.. folded over once.. I have 4 1/2 colors to go to complete the third week of this CAL.  I've got this.

Our DIL Kristi shared this photo of their pup Ozzie yesterday.  He is quite the handsome young man.

Well.. it's a swim day.. so I'm off to plunge into cold water soon.  It's a balmy 53 deg. F today with occasional sun breaks.  At least I won't be walking out with a wet head of hair into pouring rain. :-)  I use my time in the pool to think.. and I have to admit that a lot of the time I'm thinking of coming home to my easy chair by the fire and adding a few more rows to my blanket.  In your moments of musing.. what do you dream of doing?  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. 53 degrees! OK, I’m seriously jealous about that. It’s a heat wave! Your blanket is stunning. You did a beautiful job of arranging the colors. And how sweet of Dayle to get you the flowers. The stargazer lilies are amazing.
I have an appointment at the spine clinic at 2:00 and I’m thinking that afterwards I may stop at Trader Joe’s and pick myself up some flowers.
Thank you for your lovely comments on my last couple of posts. You are a good friend and I miss you. Hopefully we’ll be able to make a trip over there soon. I jokingly told Dennis yesterday that I was going to have to drive over there and have a computer workshop with you when I get my laptop back. I could just stay in that hotel in Gresham and come over to your house every day for computer lessons. How does that sound? Ha! I hope you enjoyed your swim.

    Blessings, Betsy

  4. Ozzie is so cute. What kind of dog is he? If you already posted that, I just can't remember.

Dayle is so sweet to bring you those beautiful flowers. I love fresh flowers in the house - Trader Joe's has the best around here. They always last the longest.

Your blanket is really gorgeous Teresa and you're right - it does remind me of a Mexican serape too.

Lately I've been dreaming of retiring...LOL

  5. Hi Teresa. I am sorry that I have missed quite a few posts but I have read through them all!
I have some of the lovely Beatrix Potter books - my friend bought them for our sons when they were little - love them.
I certainly am with you re hatred and intolerance!
Ozzie is beautiful and Kristi has done well with him.
The lilies and blanket look gorgeous together there on the table. I would love to be joining in but dare not start anything new. Take care and thank you for popping by. Hugs Anne x

  8. It is a joy to watch your blanket grow and the flowers along side are lovely. Thanks for letting us see. I have a little purple hyacinth bulb and miniature purple iris bulbs in bloom beside me now and am enjoying them so much. Please give Meeka and Ozzie love pats from me. In quiet times I like to ponder beauty around me, like enjoying the frequent flight of geese overhead here at my new home. In their flight path I so enjoy being able to watch them write a v across the sky and listen to them discuss the wonderful process!

  9. What a sweet pup Ozzie is. He looks so very soft and cuddly! Lately I have been thinking a lot about taking the boat out for a crabbing trip. We have not had a chance to do that since we bought it. Always something else taking up the time or the weather is bad. Soon we will finally make it!!!

Love those Stargazers - our favorite, too! Hope mine made it through the winter here.

Dreaming of being at the beach on a nice day! Or where we'll go in April on a getaway.....close to the mountains and waterfalls///will see!!! Happy week my friend!

My day dream.....a house in the middle of a field.....deep snow.....a window seat and the time to just sit and watch the world go by :).

  15. What a joy your husband is treating you to such a beautiful bouquet. My dreams are planning the garden and converting the outbuilding, both of which are slow going.
