A New Beginning

After you get done with a big project like my blanket, you feel a bit adrift... what shall I do next?  I had seen a shawl photo on the internet that inspired me to buy this big cake of colorful cotton thread.

Here is my inspiration -- isn't it pretty?  Yes, I love brights and rainbows of color.  Better yet the pattern is one I have and used for my last cotton shawl, the Sunday Shawl by Alia Brand.

This yarn comes in many different color whirls.

I had to do several rip outs and restarts to get the count right, but it's on the right track now.. this is the whole body of the shawl now until the beautiful lacy border.

Her pattern tells you how many treble rows for each row so you can always tell if you've got the right count going.  I'm going to enjoy this one.  I just hope the color changes soon.. lol.

Our little Mocha is healing up well from her surgery and she is just so cuddly and sweet.  I was weaving in my last ends on my big blanket border and she jumped in the middle of it and curled up and napped on my lap.

The nice lady we got Mocha from saw on my blog that we had her spayed and she texted me to see how she's doing.  They have been taking their male dog to training and she said he's doing so well.  Look at this darling girl.

Dayle snapped this photo the other evening at 6 pm, trying to capture how huge the snowflakes were.  Most of that is melted now and we're having sunny but cold and windy days.  I'm ready for warmth!

I'm off to my DAR meeting (Daughters of the American Revolution) soon.. I lead the National Anthem at our meetings.. la la la.. Have a super week, my dear readers!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. I love the yarn for your new shawl Teresa. It’s going to be beautiful. You do such pretty stitches. Mocha is darling. Just look at that little face. I look forward to the day that I can hold her in my lap and give her some love! We are in another winter storm warning for tomorrow. Can you believe it? 6 to 8 inches possible. What in the world is going on? I’m hoping against hope that the weather people are wrong. I hope you had a great meeting today.

    Blessings, Betsy

  8. Another shawl?! nice colors! We had a warm day here with sunshine which was so nice! Almost too warm in my car on way home while wearing my sweatshirt on way home from work. It's to be in the 40s and 50s this week, today was 58!!! WOW!!! Glad Mocha is healing well and enjoying living with you! I need to work more of my prayer shawl. Only did a few rows last week. Megan is having trouble with an eye and ear on same side....it's getting a wee better this evening. So much crud stuff going around! Happy week and stay warm and well!!!
