πŸŽ„ The Tree Came! πŸŽ„

After waiting 3 weeks the new πŸŽ„ tree πŸŽ„ arrived yesterday! 12 days later than when I wanted to have it up so I could leisurely decorate it.  Dayle wanted to leave the old tree up.. :-) but I suggested we at least set the new one up to see what it looked like.  So, my dear long-suffering husband proceeded to do so.  When he plugged it in.. just to see if the lights worked.. BOOM.. it was SO pretty that he dismantled the old tree and hauled it out to the barn.

Here he is on a chair hanging some of the higher ornaments.

While I hung ornaments he was pushing the tree back a bit.

I love going through the box of ornaments and seeing my favorites again.

I have never done a theme tree, like all one color and one kind of ornament.. our tree is VERY eclectic, all kinds of things and colors and types.

My carousel is in the family room next to the TV cabinet and now the tree is aglow in the living room.  We're getting there!  We had to get a new string of battery operated lights for the wreath, I need to string them on there today.  I even have some packages to wrap.  *<|]:{D

My blog friend Helen Philipps shared her new decor, some cling snowflakes on her window, and so I just had to have some and they look so neat on the windows!

Here they are on our family room window with our outdoor icicle lights shining through.

So.  Tomorrow I will be unable to eat and prepping for a procedure on Friday.  I will not go into detail.  Wish me luck.  I'm rather a nervous wreck about it all.

I hope you and yours are making the best of this holiday even while dealing with the virus stress.  Play some carols!  Bake some cookies!!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. What a pretty tree! Ours is eclectic too... lots of ornaments collected thru the years, each with its own story. I love the snowflakes. It has been snowing here all day. I wish you luck with your procedure. I have one tomorrow but I expect all will go well so I'm not nervous. Getting older is not for the faint of heart is it?

I hope your procedure goes smoothly. Sounds like it could be similar to one my hubby had a couple of months ago. Never nice but over soon.

  13. Fingers crossed for your procedure. The waiting is often worse than the actual thing! Your tree and decorations are perfect. I don't like the themed trees - so impersonal in my opinion. I love trees that tell the story of past Christmases and family. xx

  14. It is a beautiful tree! I keep asking myself if I want to dig out the tree this year and I keep telling myself no. I'm not sure why but I just don't have the interest so I'll just keep admiring everyone else's. Araignee

  18. Hi Teresa
You must really love your new tree to take down the old one and start again!! I love our artificial tree that I bought from target a few years ago. I have not looked back. I absolutely LOVE not having to string lights on a live tree. This year, however, after I set up the tree and plugged in the lights half of one string was not working! I was so dismayed I had to lay down for a minute less I cry! I ended up removing the defective strand of lights from the tree (which is very hard - there were so many clips to remove) and replacing with a new strand. All is well but I can see that the remaining stand of lights is crapping out as not all lights are on, but the untrained eye can't tell. Just me because I am super anal about tree lights. Just another thing to Let Go and Let God about!!
My thoughts are with you today as you fast and prepare your mind for whatever is happening tomorrow.
    Peace and Love from PDX,
    Melissa

  21. Everything looks so festive Teresa!! Well done. Glad your new tree came. I think Fletch will go out to the farm stand locally this weekend and pick up one for us. We get a live tree each year. I like those snowflakes - very pretty. I am slowly getting my shopping finished (mostly ordering on line), but work continues to be so busy it is cutting into what I want to do personally - lol.

  24. Our family tree is the same. Full of memories and ornaments from the past. I love it that way. I have other trees just for decor, but nothing like an eclectic tree :) Good luck with your procedure and thank you for taking the time to link up!
