Hello dear readers, thank you so much for all your sweet wishes for my recovery. You all rock! I am having a bad day, nausea, took my meds for it and it made me sick and I threw it up. Apparently recovery from stomach ulcers takes a long time. But I'm doing a blog post anyway. I went out to pick a couple sprigs of white lilac to bring in... I'll show you why in a minute. When we arrived home from the hospital I was so happy to see the lilacs were still looking lovely. Their bloom is fleeting.
I was happily surprised to receive a birthday card from my brother Robert and a 2nd from his wife D'Ann... then yesterday we received this bouquet of tulips from them to cheer me from my hospital stay! I quickly sent them a thank you email.
I received this pretty blue vase from France that I found for Dayle to surprise me with for my birthday. :-D It's a Portieux Vallerysthal Hand Vase in Royal Blue French Opaline. I hope my jadeite will not be jealous.
I actually think the turquoise blue color goes well with the green jadeite, what do you think?
Do you have any exciting weekend plans? Do share!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Lovely flowers, cards and new vase...you can imagine I think the blue of your new vase is beautiful!...and the scent of your lilacs, too! This weekend I hope to shop for a hanging basket of flowers.💞🙏🤗
ReplyDeleteThis is Bev Law, a friend of Teresa’s. So sad to tell you she passed on Thursday May 6th. She had a septic infection and her organs shut down. Gosh we will miss her so much. I’m still in shock and heartbroken. Prayers for her family.
DeleteFeel better soon! And yes, the blue looks lovely with all the green.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty bouquet of tulips and the new vase is gorgeous. I love lilacs and they never last long enough for me either. As you said, so fleeting.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're not feeling much better. I'm praying for you my dear friend and hoping the healing begins very soon.
Piper and I saw some stunning tulips beds yesterday as we were driving past the Mormon Cemetery. She had the idea to take Great-Grandma there today so she could see them. Would you believe I didn't get any pictures either time? I'm going to try to remember tomorrow.
Also tomorrow Mandy, Piper, my sister Melanie, niece Chaela and I are getting our toes "done". I haven't done that in years and I'm really looking forward to it and the girl time too. I'm loving being near family but missing friends in Spokane too.
Piper spent the night last night and talked Mandy into letting her stay again tonight. :-) She helped me build some yarn storage shelves and she was a HUGE help. I couldn't have done it without her. That girl is good with a hammer and nails!
Take care Teresa and I pray you're on the mend very, very soon. Hello to Dayle too and kisses for Mocha.
Blessings,
Betsy
I do hope that you start feeling better very soon. I love lilacs (mine are lavender) and, like you, I regret that they are about for such a short time. Take good care of yourself. I'll keep you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh Teresa, sorry you are having a rough recovery. I hope that changes quickly and you can feel more like your normal self. Love your new blue vase...it does look so nice nestled in with your jadite!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that you are still feeling the effects of those darn ulcers!
ReplyDeleteThe lilacs are so lovely, I hope they help alleviate some of the pain you are going through. I love your positive approach to your health issues.
May God Bless you with better days ahead!!!
Thanks for posting....
Oh gosh, I just read your last post too. Dear Teresa, what an awful way to have to spend your birthday! I'm so glad you're okay and home from the hospital, but so sorry you have to deal with all this discomfort. Saying a prayer for you.
DeleteHappy belated birthday, and I hope you'll be able to celebrate properly once you're on the mend! The new base is lovely, and it does look very nice with the jadeite. Hugs to you, and best wishes for healing.
That new blue vase is brilliant, love the design with the hand, yes it goes well with your jadeite. White lilacs are so dreamy. I am praying for quick healing for you.
ReplyDeletePraying you feel better soon. Thankful friends and family gave you flowers and cards. Megan and I had a good drive thru lunch at Burgerville in Canby and ate in car by salon where I get my pedicure. I was able to use the restroom.Ones at restaurant aren't open. People still need to use the toilets in life. Really. Plans are to be at home except church which is still open. Take care and hugs to you and Dayle. 🍰🌈🙏🐇🌷🌷😀

ReplyDeleteI hope you'll be able to celebrate your birthday properly once you're on the mend. That blue vase is stunning, and it does look lovely with the jadite. Beautiful flowers too. It's not quite lilac time yet here, but soon.

ReplyDeleteThinking of you Teresa and loving the blue vase filled with lilac. Hope your weekend improves :) B x
ReplyDeleteBelated birthday wishes Teresa! That beautiful blue vase is a wonderful find! You have probably heard of the expression "blue and green should never be seen without a colour in between" ! I don't believe in that because I like you like blue and green together and personally I think the jadeite and this new blue look impressive :-) Do hope you will be feeling better very soon take care Amanda x
ReplyDeleteLovely new vase, and yes, it looks beautiful with the Jadeite, I always love blue and green together, they're very soothing I think, reminiscent of the sea. So sorry to hear you're having a rough day. I hope things settle down for you very soon and that you start to heal and feel a lot better. Look after yourself my friend. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteAhhh... Happy Birthday, dear woman! I wish it were an easier one to celebrate. Keep gathering your flowers, and all of our well wishes around you.
ReplyDeleteDear Teresa, so sorry to hear of your hospital stay and the discovery of ulcers. Glad to hear you are on the mend and hope you are able to figure out the best way to eat and care for yourself so that healing is quick. Belated birthday wishes. Your new vase is beautiful. I do love blue. Take care.
ReplyDeleteMy Dear friend I am so sorry you have been though so much. And on your birthday to boot! Ulcers are super painful, I gave myself one a while back from taking anti-inflammatory medication. I drank a cup of aloe vera juice everyday for a few months until I felt better. It really helped. Rest up my friend and take good care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteDear Teresa, I really hope you do feel better by now! No nausea, no more pain.....I hope you can enjoy the lovely flowers in your beautiful new vase, and the love of your family!! Congratulations to your birthday! Hope you have the energy for some celebrations! I love your lilacs!! I might buy some tomorrow! April has been the coldest one for thirty years, but the flowers are still blooming! We drink our coffees on the opened up coffee terraces, hidden in our wintercoats and mittens! We are all waiting for the sun to make a great entrance! In the mean time we are grateful for our comfortable houses! Hope you get better soon, lots and lots of love, Janneke.
ReplyDeleteTeresa, I do hope you feel better soon. I have found that some medicine is easier to take after eating something. Also, be sure and let your doctor know if you continue to have issues after taking the medicine as sometimes they can recommend a different medicine. I love your tulips. They are one of my favorite flowers and my outside tulips are just beginning to bloom:)
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel much better very quickly. Thinking of you xx
ReplyDeleteSorry for your pain, Teresa, hope your recovery runs more smoothly. I was trying to cut back on my aspirin but it sure is difficult when you have aches and pains each day. What else can a person take for relief?
