I'll start my visit with you today by showing you a real survivor.. my "Scent-imental" rose. I got this rose while living on my houseboat about 12 years ago. I am an absolute *SUCKER* for variegated and striped roses, flowers and foliage. So when I saw this rose in the garden store and then smelled it, it had to be mine. It lived in a pot for years then when it was transplanted to the farm when I was - 8 1/2 years ago. :-) This rose has a wonderful aroma. I only like roses that are not only pretty, but very fragrant. The bug is a bonus.. I didn't see it when I took the photo. LOL
Yesterday hubby went out to visit with the mail lady as she brought this package.. how excited I was, it was a "Give-Away" from Kate, at The Garden Bell!! Kate is one fantastic woman, she is an amazing crocheter, photographer, gardener, traveler, artist and friend. I absolutely adore her blog, she always has bright and fun photos - but her unique-ness is her fun way of writing, it's bright and fun and exciting. I think of her as one of the best parts of having discovered "blogs". She is also generous - and put together 3 gift bags to "give away" on her blog as she'd reached a milestone of her 300th posting. And WOOHOOOOOOO.. she drew my name!! YAY!! I saw Kate's sticker and knew something fun would be inside! Oh.. here's a peek!
Each of the items were wrapped in colorful tissue and tied with a little ribbon of colorful yarns! And a very sweet card..
I feel so spoiled! Kate made a beautiful crocheted flower.. and "White Citrus" spray, lotion and shower gel! I immediately sprayed myself with the scent! Refreshing!
Flowery emery boards, fun paper clips, a delightful Mary Engelbreit pen and a super fun floral note pad, I love note pads!
She also added a fun luggage tag shaped like a sparkly ice cream cone and her pretty card with a K on it. It just made my day, *T*H*A*N*K* * *Y*O*U*!*!*!* Kate! Mwahhhh!
Another of my roses in bloom, the "Double Delight".
And here is another exciting thing that came in the mail on Tuesday... another of my favorite bloggers, Alicia Paulson from Posy Gets Cozy... created this wonderful crewel embroidery kit and is sold it in her online store. The kit is sold out, but you can order the pattern there. I look forward to working on this, but I need to buy an embroidery hoop!
Below is one of the roses my son planted here from his yard, a pretty yellow centered orange rose. Does anyone know the name of this?
Lastly is a slightly fuzzy photo of one of my pansies that came back from last year.. isn't it just adorable?
Thank you for visiting and I especially want to thank those of you who take the time to leave a comment and to those who are sending healing thoughts and prayers to my son who has just endured a very painful Gamma Knife radiation treatment on a brain tumor. He's recovering slowly but it doing better.
Have a wonderful weekend! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Don't you just love surprises in the mail? I think the younger generation is missing out on that. The excitement, anticipation, etc. Your flowers are always so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the roses Teresa. Sorry to hear about your son...I hope he gets well very quick! xoxox
ReplyDeleteI just love your roses. My grandmother called that first one a peppermint stripe, it was her favorite. The last one looks like it might be the Broadway Rose.
ReplyDeleteMy flowers are burnt away in the heat, as am I. Our ac died when I woke up this morning.
I'm praying for your son and hope he makes a smooth recovery. I know it must be very stressful for you and your husband with worry.
