Winter Flowers

I have a poor spindly Hibiscus plant that looks pretty darn pathetic most of the time - and just when I'm about ready to toss it outside to fend for itself with the Winter weather.. it does *this*.  I just love the flowers on this plant.  They only last one day but boy howdy.. what a day of beauty this flower gives.  :-)
And my sweet husband has brought home flowers for me a few times this week.  This bouquet is gorgeous, with Snapdragons and magenta daisies (is this color really real? Wow!), and some pretty carnations.  It had 3 Gerbera daisies, but those pretty flowers always droop terribly in one day.. does this happen with you?
The first bouquet had these wonderful lime colored Chrysanthemums and the lavender ones too.  Don't you love green flowers?
I would say that this fuchsia color is my favorite.
Hubby and I are going out to lunch and run some errands this afternoon.  We're going shopping for new sheets for our king size bed.  It's funny (not really when you're making the bed when you're tired late at night...) - but we can never figure out which is the TOP of the fitted sheet.  SO.. we're going to buy some nice high thread count STRIPED sheets.  The problem should be fixed.

Say.. thanks for all the nice comments about my mountain photo.  But I gotta admit, the credit goes to the mountain and the setting sun.  :-)

((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  2. Hiya. That flower is awesome. Did hubby shower you with flowers to say sorry for the chicken mishap? Good luck with the sheets. Don't know if this will help you, but I ALWAYS put the fitted sheet on with the tag on upper left hand corner of bed!!! Works every time!

  3. Beautiful flowers Teresa - your DH is a sweetie. Did you get the new sheets? DH always hates bed linen changing day - hates putting the clean linen on. Anne x

  4. Beautiful flowers Teresa. That lime green Chrysanthemum is amazing - don't think I've ever seen one like that. Had to laugh about your sheet dilemma - stripes should do the trick.

  5. Beautiful flowers. I think you should make an 'Apple Pie' bed with those sheets and report the results...that would make me chuckle!!!

  7. Gah-geous flowers, and what a sweet man you are married to! Those fuchsia and green flowers are so pretty. I gave my mom a bouquet of each for mother's day last year. They look so pretty mixed together! Enjoy your new sheets. I can never get them on the right way the first time I try either!

  8. Look at those flowers. Lucky gal, charming hubbie. That's what we did with our sheets too. Stripes are the way to go. Hey, have you looked on www.overstock.com. They have great deals on high count cotton. I've gotten ours there for years.

  9. I think Dayle should send me some flowers, he knows how much I love him. Love all the flowers. We can't have hibiscus here because the deer eat them, but I love all the color variations they come in. Beautiful
    Hugs to you,
    Meredith

  14. Hello Teresa....I hope you have had a wonderful start to 2012....It certainly looks that way with all your pretty and colourful flowers from your lovely hubby!...I have the same problem with gerbera and end up propping them against the other flowers but they are so strikingly pretty, aren't they?
Hope you have a lovely day out!
