Dayle brought in the mail yesterday and handed me a padded manila envelope and I wondered.. hmm.. what could that be? I opened it up and was *THRILLED* to see a sweet card and this hand made Valentine Heart pin by my blog friend Betsy from The Simple Life of a Queen! Wasn't that sweet?
I'd seen 3 of these hearts on Betsy's last blog post that had ribbon hangers and was so enchanted that I had red and pink felt on my shopping list. :-) I must say that one of the BEST parts of blogging has been the new friends I've made. That means YOU, my beloved readers. It's also been fabulous getting to know local bloggers in "real life", such as Betsy.
It's got a pin sewed on the back so it's all ready to wear on my red turtleneck with my red shawl and hat! :-) *T*H*A*N*K* * *Y*O*U*!*!*!* Betsy!
Yesterday it was foggy in the morning and then it burned off and we had brilliant sunshine all afternoon! I had to snap a photo of the pretty light. It was a good day for swimming as the pool was all sparkly with sunshine.
I have started with the 2nd skein of Mary Maxim "Prism" yarn crocheting the Queen Anne's Lace scarf. (Pattern is in the post below) This colorway is "Cut Glass". What I find interesting with this skein is the colors are much longer so there are big stretches of one color. I like it better when they change quicker.
We are expecting a service man from Comcast soon to swap out our cable box and modem, both which are ancient. Then we're off to a housewarming potluck party at our middle son's new house! Fun! I hope you're having a fun weekend! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Lovely hearts, lovely pictures and lovely scarf... Just lovely x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and thoughtful gift. The light in your room is beautiful, and I love it on water as well, it's always such a treat to swim in the sun. Enjoy your Sunday Teresa. CJ xx

I'm so glad you like it Teresa. I had fun making them. Some are hanging hearts and some are pins. I thought you would like a pin since you're " out and about" so much. :-). Love the new scarf too.

What a lovely gift from Betsy and what a lovely lady she must be - so thoughtful. The QA scarves are very pretty aren't they? Quite addictive too! I made a few in Noro yarn a few years back and the colours worked out really nice. They look good in plain colours too. xox
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet gift and I love your Queen Anne scarf. I once tried it after I saw it on Mereknits blog but I went adrift somehow and I had to give it up.

The heart Betsy made for you is so pretty! She is a Sweetheart. Hope you are having fun at the House Warming party at your son's tonight. It is interesting how colors pool in the multi-colored skeins. I like the quicker changes the best I think, too. Did I tell you I started making a cowl for myself with the gray alpaca yarn I got? I got another row done this afternoon [using the Continental method :-) ] On size four needles the progress seems a bit slow :-) Glad you had a sunny swim Friday...I love the glittery water too! xx
ReplyDeleteI got a pin heart too. Love it. I worked cleaning my office space today. Still some to do but it is closer. Loved the warm weather yesterday. Now we have rain. 😀
ReplyDeleteLove the pin! It is so pretty! It seems so funny to see all the plants and sun in your picture as I was taking pictures of huge waves and ice today!
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful friend, the pin is a delight. The sun streaming through the window is lovely, particularly this time of year when it can be so dreary. Beautiful scarf. Have a great time at your sons party.
