As if on cue, on September 1st the Autumn weather arrived. The sun is slanting in from a different angle. Pine needles are falling, acorns too. Time to put up the Fall wreath on the door. But we still have flowers in the pots on our deck. This is a tiny miniature rose that I simply adore. I love variegated colors and stripy flowers. Do you have flowers still blooming?
I'm so very happy that we have added several colors of Dahlia in our deck pots. They really are the stars of the Autumn flower show, aren't they?
I've been so darn busy that I haven't taken the time to pick a bouquet for the house, but now I feel like I want a handful of Sunflowers on the table!
What a wonderful color! What color name would you use to describe this one?
We're off soon to get a flu shot together and then to lunch and then I'm off to swim for an hour. What are you up to today? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Lovely header photo, and that tiny rose is gorgeous. It reminds me of the bigger rose, Ferdinand Pichard, I love the splashes of colour. Not sure what I'd call that colour of pink/mauve, but it's definitely a colour from my childhood, it's brilliant. Hope you had a nice lunch, it sounds like a good day, a little organising, a little treat and a little exercise. Perfect. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pretty photo bouquet of flowers, Teresa :) They are all beautiful and I am at a loss of what to name the one...perfect pink? I am finishing the little baby blanket I've been working on. I'm crocheting a border on it now. Soon I plan to hop in the car and go to the pool for a swim, too! Hope to see you there! xx
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! And I would definitely say bubble gum pink! Yes, lots of flowers will be blooming here unto first frost in early October. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are SO pretty, Teresa. I love pink flowers. I was just saying to my husband that I really wish we had some pink roses in the backyard. Good for you getting the flu shot. I hope you have a healthy flu season. Have fun at the pool too.
ReplyDeleteI can always count on you to bring a lovely host of pretty flower photo's.
ReplyDeleteYou never disappoint.
I believe the forecasters are touting a few more 80 degree days. I do hope they're wrong. I much prefer the cooler days with rain here and there. You can see how much it is enjoyed by all the flower & fauna.
Beautiful flowers Teresa.....We had our flu shot earlier this year but we are the opposite of you guys ♥
ReplyDeletePerhaps I should start up swimming, been YEARS......us on the road today to visit one of my boys for a long weekend ☺☺ hello to Gracie too from me xo
Your flowers are beautiful. I cannot wait for all of our Japanese Maples to "fall up". We do have a nursery with many, many plants..but this year no flowers..and every year no landscaping around the house or anything you could call a lawn. I can look out my front window and see a tractor, a huge post pounder, a roller for the fields..you name it. I am a cobbler's child without shoes. But, I am happy where I am.
ReplyDeleteMany wishes for a stellar Autumn for you and your family.
Pretty flowers Teresa! I'm ready for fall though. The man who takes care of the huge garden here at the lake is in his mid eighties. He brought me a pretty bouquet of dahlias tonight along with corn and strawberries he had just picked. I thought that was really sweet of him. Dennis and I may make a trip to the coast in October, do you think our husbands might like to have dinner too? Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
What beautiful flowers, a stunning feast for the eyes. I would call that beautiful pink fuchsia such a vibrant shade of pink. I am hoping to get some garden jobs done today, mowing the lawns mainly if they are dry enough. Have a good swim.
ReplyDeleteAll very pretty. Nothing much blooming here right now because of the heat. Even though I'm not working, my days are truly just flying by. And everyone said I would be bored. HA! :)
ReplyDeleteSchools in session. Our pools are closed until friday afternoon. SO, to the movie theatre we go on this 95 degree day!
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are stunning. School is now back in full swing here, and the nights are drawing in and becoming much cooler.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is on its way!

I found your blog from Irisheyesknitters (kathy b). Love your photos!
ReplyDeleteJust love t hose dahlias and thank you for posting the pink ones! We live in central Oregon and still lots of flowers blooming, though we've been covering ours every night with a flannel sheet! It was down to 29 degrees last night. We group them all together and is easy to cover them all. Our pansies are gorgeous, petunias still and my marigolds are beautiful. I love marigolds as they will bloom until the Fall frosts. I wish we had some chrysanthemums (sp?) as they will bloom long too and they come in such gorgeous oranges and reds. And yes.. the sun here is taking on a totally different glow and the days have a golden hue to them.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty flowers!!!! We have acorns falling too, but they are still green not brown. Leaves are starting to turn colour and fall too! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers Teresa. Love each one of them.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
