Winter Falls

My sister Denise and I volunteered at Multnomah Falls yesterday.  It was a typical Winter day - cold, misty and the occasional drizzle.  People would come into the Visitors Center to warm up, their jackets covered with raindrops.  I worked on my Flowers in the Snow blanket and many of the visitors remarked about it, saying how their grandmother made crochet blankets, how they couldn't crochet, one guy told his girlfriend that he knew how.. that was cute.  I snapped this photo right after we locked up the VC, at 5 pm, on our way to our cars.  The clouds were very low.

Not many people there in the plaza at that time of day, in that kind of weather, on a thursday.  :-)

We noted that the clouds were hanging low on the cliffs across the Columbia River in Washington State - and the sun was shining too.

The Columbia River Gorge is full of beauty.

I wanted to show you the beautiful quilt that my sister made for our niece's baby Rosemary.  I delivered it for her as she caught a cold on her trip to Costa Rica and didn't want to expose our niece and the baby.  Isn't it neat?  I love the brightness of the white and the primary colors.

I will head off to the pool today.  Brrrrr.  But it's good for my heart so I will go.  Even though Gracie won't be there, she got invited to stay at the beach with some friends.  Have a good weekend!  Do you have plans?  We don't.  Just some more flowers in my blanket.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. Your photos are beautiful; nothing can compare to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. You sister did an amazing job on creating this beautiful quilt. I'm sure it will be a much cherished gift. My family is off to celebrate my son-in-law's birthday today. We're expecting some much needed rain - hopefully it will make an appearance today. My best to you. Hugs, Pat

  2. Ah, pretty, pretty, Multnomah Falls. I never get tired of seeing it. We started out with sunshine this morning but the clouds have come back in. The quilt is absolutely beautiful. I just know that the baby will enjoy being snuggled up in it. :-). The only plans we have for the weekend is a memorial service tomorrow afternoon, and we always have breakfast on Saturday morning with friends. Of course church Sunday morning. Other than that it will be quiet time around here I think. Have a lovely weekend with your blanket Teresa. Blessings, Betsy

  12. Your Colombia River Gorge is so similar to our Marlborough Sounds top of the South Island in N.Z.A most beautiful spot. I used to live in the town of Picton the port town head of the sounds. I miss it very much.Lovely quilt Teresa.
