Wintery Excursion

On Monday we headed off to Multnomah Falls for Dayle to do some Treasurer work, we snapped this photo from the car window as we headed out East.  We'd decided to go to Big Ts for lunch in Stevenson WA, so off we went.  There were big clouds but sun breaks on our way there.

After lunch we visited the Cascade Locks Marine Park so I could snap some images of the snowy mountains across the river in WA. I also snapped some of the Canada Geese that love the grassy lawns at the park.

This is what I wanted to show you.. isn't that dramatic?

We're not done with Winter here.

This mountain is to the right of that last one.

Zoom..

This is the Oregon side rising up behind Cascade Locks.

A last shot of the gorge from the little park under the bridge and off we went towards home.

I've had a relapse and am suffering from bronchitis.. but I'm sure to get better soon.  I'm doing some crocheting and TV watching and need to do some reading. We're watching Doc Martin from season 1 on.. I really love that show.  Thank heavens for the fire in our den.. is there anything more lovely than radiant heat on a cold winter day?  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. I believe it truly is the never ending winter. We got 3 inches of snow last night and more is predicted for tonight. I really am tired of it. I'm sorry to hear that you're still sick. Are you on antibiotics? Stay inside and stay warm my friend.
    Blessings, Betsy

  2. Hello Teresa. I am so sorry I've missed a few of your posts. Just been reading through - enjoyed your news and photos as always. Life has been a little overwhelming of late. I was poorly, mum in hospital again with a compression fracture in her spine. I have been teetering on the edge of going down to see her now for several days. Finally waited until after our son's birthday celebration and due to go down to see her for a few days. I am so worried about her, the situation is so difficult. I would like to go away somewhere away from it all and do whatever I want. Not to be at the moment. I am sorry I have not been able to manage any hats yet. Is it an ongoing project. I'm sorry you are unwell again. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs Anne xxx

  3. So sorry you're ill again, I do hope you shake it off soon. The scenery is stunning in your corner of the world, it really is. That last shot is perfection. Glad you had such a lovely trip out, but it's good that you're home and tucked up in the warm. Crochet, tv and reading in front of the fire sounds utterly blissful. Look after yourself Teresa. CJ xx

  7. I am sorry you are unwell again, I do hope that spending time in front of the wood stove and plenty of relaxing with craft speeds up your recovery. Winter is on the retreat here but you just never know, it might get real cold again. The snowy mountains look very majestic.

  9. Your first photos don't look so wintery but those last ones sure do. Sorry to hear you are dealing with bronchitis again. My oldest boy has had it a couple of times in the past year. Take care of yourself.

  10. Monday's snow was a surprise! Sad to hear your sickness morphed into bronchitis.
I took in several vacation hold cards yesterday from people ditching drizzly oregon. Off to warmer climes. On a brighter note, I think I found my missing business plan puzzle piece this last weekend. Very excited but busy doing more research.
    Hot toddy to you.

  16. I am so sorry you are still ill Teresa. Little B has been ill all week. Yesterday after his nap he was coughing so much he could not stop. I ended up taking him the the children's hospital ER, not that he was that sick it is just the only place that takes his insurance. SUre enough he tested positive for the flu. He has lost 2 pounds this week. Bless his heart. Hope you are better soon. REST!

  17. Lovely photos, Teresa! i love seeing landscapes from other lands. I hope you feel better soon, but being sick is a good reason for sitting on the couch or in bed with some crochet and comfort. Take care.
