Farmyard Safari

Hello!  Want to join me on a walkabout around the grounds of our 100 year old farm place?  OK!  Let's start with how the orange Exbury Azalea is blooming so beautifully!  A delight for the eyes!  I think it's name is Mandarin Lights.

A bit of a zoom.. oh pretty.

I had gotten a big purple Rhododendron a few years ago but it did not make it.. so Kristi got a replacement for me.  :-) I think it's name is Purple Passion.

Our old 10 foot tall pink Rhodie.

Kristi planted this pink Hydrangea in a bigger pot until it is ready to plant in the ground.

The White Azalea is in prime bloom and the Iris are beginning to bloom!  Kristi planted some Marigolds in front of the Iris, I can't wait to see how they do there.

The Pink Rosebud Azalea is nearing full bloom.  It's a big old bush!

The Lily-of-the-Valley loves this cool shady front walk of ours.

See.. still pretty.

Looking across the circular driveway the massive bright pink Rhododendron is approx. 20 feet tall!

We have several of these colored rhodies on the property, these are in front of the house.

Aren't they divine?

I looked up at the sun shining through the giant pin Oak tree - oh thank you sun for coming back to us! :-)

The Star of Bethlehem is in bloom, too.  Sweet flowers.

The first Iris to bloom.

White Azalea.

I was very pleased to see that Kristi was clearing the spent daffodil leaves that were crowding the poor little lace leaf Japanese Maple.  Next she is going to cut back the dwarf variegated bamboo which may be going on the chopping block as it's exceeding the footprint I was hoping it would stay within.

I said hello to the hens and chick-lets.  We got a new water system for the chickens that will keep the water CLEAN.. the little girls are using it but we haven't seen the older hens try it.  I hope they get used to it soon as the old waterer is icky looking.

The boys have a friend over for a sleepover and they are now out enjoying the new trampoline.  Caleb made all their lunches, Mac and Cheese!

OK.. time to head back to the house to do this blog post and have lunch.. and head to the pool!  Eek.. running late!

Ok.. did you enjoy the fresh air and sunshine?  I sure did!  Enjoy your weekend.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  4. What a beautiful day you had today Teresa. I enjoyed the tour of the farm yard and the chickens. You have so many beautiful flowers. We've been busy all day with the garage sale. Steady traffic, but not a lot of buyers. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
    Blessings, Betsy

  10. Teresa I have been missing you. Looks like your yard is blooming beautifully. Mine has gardenias in it but that is it. Hope the boys had fun with their friend, sleepovers are the best especially if you are not the parents and have to remind the boys to actually sleep.
    Sending you a hug,
    Meredith

  14. Wow! That 'Mandarin Lights' azalea is just Wow! I must try and find one here in Oz! Thanks for the tour. I really enjoy your garden tour posts. It reminds me of when I'd visit my mums house and she would hand me a glass of wine or cup of tea, and we'd take a tour of her garden to see what is flowering. xox
