Hello! Thanks for dropping by. :-) I really appreciated all the nice comments about my Memorial Day post. Dayle did too. For those of you who take the time to comment, it is most appreciated, it's how a blogger gets to know you! Last year we put in a few new irises, this huge beauty just bloomed.. isn't it amazing?
My daughter Amy sent me 2 Amish signs as a gift a while back and this one fits perfectly on the new chicken coop... isn't it neat? Travis mounted this one and the second one on our garage barn. Thanks, Amy! Kristi has planted some Dahlias in these two pots.
I planted 2 different varieties of Clematis on the corner of the shed, this is the second one.. I love the color of it.
And my 4th of July Rose is in bloom! We're still tidying up around here.. my cousins arrive on Monday. We're hosting a family dinner on Monday here then on Tuesday a tour of the gorge. Wednesday we're heading to Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood where we all have booked rooms in the magnificent lodge. The next day we all head to the Oregon Coast where we have rooms right on the beach for two nights! :-)
I ordered a magnetic bumper sticker for my car. RESIST - I do not support what is going on in our government right now. Today we learned that 45 is going to withdraw the USA from the Paris Climate Agreement. WHAT??? How can this happen? It's also becoming clear that Russia did indeed meddle in our election and now we are waiting to hear how much help they got from 45 and his people. It really is a stressful time to be an American. :-(
We have the sun shining today. I will be doing more tidying. :-) Maybe some crocheting with pink cotton yarn in between. What are you up to today? Have a fabulous weekend!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Your iris is stunning! I haven't caught up with your Memorial Day post yet but will hopefully get the chance very soon.
ReplyDeleteIt is inconceivable that the US could withdraw from the climate agreement. A decision based on poor science education is my guess. I could rant forever about poor science education (being a scientist), an inability to critically evaluate information drives me bonkers. Alas, I won't clutter your comment section with my outpourings. Instead, I am wishing you a wonderful weekend away. It sounds like a busy weekend but an exiting one, too. x
I love you chicken coop! and the flowers are beautiful...as is the bumper sticker ;o)
ReplyDeleteTimberline Lodge should be AMAZING. I have a lovely coffee table book, "Great Lodges of the West", and it has all of the incredible lodges in our western state National Parks. We travel with our dogs so typically cannot stay in the lodges, but always try and get a meal or at least a glass of wine (or beer) and a snack in the bar so that we can enjoy the lodges a bit. So many great ones!! Some of my favorite memories are of kicking back on the rocking chairs at Crater Lake, and also at Glacier, just taking in the views. Cannot wait to see your photos from the Timberline! Enjoy!
Love your sign, Teresa! #resist! I can't imagine withdrawing from the climate accord. Ignorance is NOT bliss, though the whole administration seems to be woefully ignorant on policy, the way the government works, anything and everything but making money.
ReplyDeleteTeresa, I am catching up. Here at my parents while my dad had a procedure. I love the hex sign! We used to go to Pennsylvania to Amish country and I always adored them.
ReplyDeleteI absolultely love your new chicken coop and the Amish sign. So neat! The flowers are stunning as well. We have just a bit of rain falling right now, but it's so needed to settle the yellow pollen that is everywhere. In fact, we could use a huge downpour! Have fun at your dinner and lodge stay. How fun!

Betsy

You have some of the most gorgeous flowers I have ever seen, and I love how beautifully you photograph them, Teresa. Our purple Clematis is nearly ready to bloom.
ReplyDeleteReading an article about hex signs I was interested to learn that some assign symbolism to the designs and colors used, and others since around 2001 have created quilt signs that have different types of patterns than hex signs. I especially like the hearts on your chicken house sign ❤️❤️❤️
Good for you trying to make our world a better place. You have got me thinking. As long as I have been aware that I am an American I have felt stressed. Currently I combat the stress by trying to stay informed, vote, take surveys, leave wherever I am in as good a shape if not better than when I arrived; I pray for those in authority to make right decisions...and I aim to trust that God is in loving control even when I disagree with decisions made and am frustrated with our democratic republic process and the world in general. [I would rather just enjoy your flowers and the beauty around me.] ππΊπ»ππΊπ»ππΊπ»π
Sorry I'm late in commenting but it was a very touching tribute you shared for Memorial Day. Have fun with your cousins! Pat xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a disappointment to hear that the withdrawal from the climate agreement is imminent. Such beautiful flowers Teresa, a joy to see them. Hope you have a wonderful break away with your family. Looking forward to hearing all about it on your return.
ReplyDeleteIm so sad about the climate agreement withdrawal. Shameful.
ReplyDeleteI love your IRIS in that peach of a color Teresa!
Your 4th Of July Rose is spectacular!!!! Wowza. I LOVE it
Another day another huge disappointment with our current government. I love the sign! If I had it on my car here I would probably get shot by all the second amendment gun carrying crazy people. There are so many Trump stickers on cars around her I find it nauseating. SO now we are friends with Nicaragua...
ReplyDeleteLove your bumper sticker! And your hex sign for the chicken coop - looks great. The news just seems to get more appalling every day....
