Crabby

As in Dungeness crab.. :-)  Our son Travis and his friend Ernie took our grandson Hayden and his friend Ayden on a crab and fishing trip over the weekend.  They took our boat, Sea Wolf, and were treated to perfect weather and flat seas.  They had a wonderful time.

When they launched the boat they found that the water cooling system wasn't pumping well, so Kristi found a replacement part and drove it all the way there and saved the day.

Ernie and Travis installed the new part, thank heavens the boat had a complete tool kit on board when we bought it.  And here they are ready to go out and drop the crab pots.

And success!  Look at those big "keepers" Hayden is holding!

It was his friend's first crabbing trip and he enjoyed the experience.

Ernie and Hayden with a crab pot with a lot of crabs.

And both boys.  :-)

In between pulling up crab pots they all fished.  Hayden caught the first fish, a Sea Bass!

Heading in at dusk on Saturday night.  The mighty Pacific Ocean.

Then Ayden caught his own Sea Bass!

On Saturday evening they cooked up several crab and had them for dinner.

After pulling up the crab pots on Sunday morning they packed up and headed home.  Here is the gang getting the crabs cleaned and ready to boil in our driveway.

Meet a Dungeness crab.  :-)

They have a pretty colored back shell, they turned a bright red when cooked in a pot of boiling water.

Here is Kristi goofing off, kissing a crab.

Ayden's family came to join in the crab feed and pick him up.

Travis cooked up 48 crab, 4 of these big roasting pans heaped with them.

We had crab salad for lunch today!

Then swimming!  I hope you have a wonderful day, and THANKS for the nice comments!!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

    1. Dungeness is a place on the South coast of the U.K. It makes me smile thinking of those crabs swimming all the way to Teresa's neck of the wood!

  14. Thanks for sharing the great fishing and crabbing voyage with us...and letting us see the delicious looking catch! I had house related appointments the last two days and picked up a little bouquet of autumn flowers for our table on the way home today. I just made some vegetable beef soup which sounds especially good to me since it is cold outside. Love to you and yours xxxxxxxxx
