It's freezing here. Snow has been predicted and some has fallen. We are staying close to home and by the fire and I've been happily hooking along on my border for the Sweet Pea Trellis. Even as I near the finish this will be my favorite blanket. I love the colors, the design and being a part of Lucy's CAL. I have thought about what I will do next and I think my alpaca winter hat will be "it". I *want* to knit it.. but crocheting will be sooooo much easier for me.. hmmm...
And here are the results of "Snow-mageddon". Sheesh. Some places in our state have received a few feet of snow.. but not here. That's fine by me.
So.. back to crocheting for me. After watching the national news this morning.. I think I will just keep my thoughts to myself.. but I can't wait until our country rights itself on a more even keel. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
We are one of the places with over two feet of snow. And more is coming! It can be a real struggle to dig out of snow this deep.
ReplyDeleteYour Sweet Pea Trellis blanket reminds that spring really will be here very soon. Just lovely with such a riot of bright colors!
Your current blanket is my favorite of those I have seen that you have made, too. I am glad you are enjoying working on it! I had from scratch chicken vegetable soup simmering on the stove this morning, savored eating some for lunch, prayed for God's peace in myself, and others and currently have my little electric stove and some lit candles producing light, heat, vanilla scent and coziness inside from the snow flurry filled cold winds outside. Sending my love to you and yours. xx
ReplyDeleteGosh Teresa over here we have had record breaking heat! Keep snug and enjoy your crochet . I'm so glad you replaced your scissors they are stunning! Hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colourful crochet blanket Teresa! You are so good at crochet and so fast! Stay warm and cosy, especially if you get more snow. Here it is amazingly spring like for February! XxX
ReplyDeleteLove your snow pictures and here of course is HOT 38 celcius for the next few days uhh.
ReplyDeleteDo you still swim with Gracie or has she moved far away xoxoxo
Gracie has taken a swimming break and I have too during this freezing weather plus we keep having snow here and there. I plan to get back into it when the weather improves and hopefully Gracie will join me! :-)
DeleteYour blanket is really gorgeous. I know you have enjoyed it as well as I have enjoyed watching your progress. We may get a little snow tomorrow evening and then again on Sunday. I sure hope Spring isn't too far away. ♥
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so cozy nestled in the trees! It is cold here too... only got up to eleven degrees today and the nights have been below freezing. I like winter but I am so ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteHome is the best place to be when it's cold and snowy outside. We're getting snow tonight too, and Pete was saying we're lucky we have no place else we have to be and are home safe and sound out of the weather. Snuggle in and crochet!
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa,
ReplyDeleteYour blanket is beautiful. I love those colors. So spring-like and I need that right now. Oh, to have your dusting of snow! We received 5 1/2 inches today and another six is predicted for tonight and tomorrow. We only needed to to break a century old record for the month of February. I don’t think it’s going to be a problem to break that record. I, for one, I am very ready for spring.
I ended up not going to my appointment today because I couldn’t get out of my driveway. Two neighbors slid into each other right in front of our driveway and I couldn’t get around them. I had to cancel my appointment and they charged me a $50 cancellation fee. Oh well. It’s better than getting in an accident myself. Stay warm and cozy my friend.
Blessings, Betsy
Beautiful blanket Teresa, the colours and pattern is a delight. A strong reminder that Spring is around the corner. Stay cosy and warm.
ReplyDeleteI love your afghan Teresa. The colours are gorgeous. Is it very big? The snow is pretty but I'm so glad we don't get any where I live. Can't stand the cold and so, with tomorrow being the first day of Autumn, I'm not really looking forward to the coming months. Stay warm. xox
ReplyDeleteThe border is coming out beautifully Teresa.
ReplyDeleteAfter some sunny days we are back to cold and damp weather and apparently there could be snow in them thar hills which probably won't include us.
Keep snuggling.
Hugs-x-
Exciting that your blanket is almost finished. So beautiful and like a breath of SPRING. We had a very light dusting of snow this morning and flurries are predicted overnight tonight. But tomorrow is March - Spring cannot be too far away! Staying in by the fire and crocheting and/or knitting and/or napping (!!) sounds perfect to me.
ReplyDeleteThe colours of your blanket are just divine! I love the delicate border stitches that you are working on just now. xx
ReplyDeleteHi, I just discovered you through blog hopping. Your blog is beautiful and so is your needlework! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with your unspoken thoughts. I hope things get better sooner rather than later.
Phyllis
I'm so glad that the blanket is your new favorite. After all the blankets you make, you still find new loves
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa. Missed this post. I love your blanket and Sweet Peas were one of my dad's favourites. Last weekend I was beside the sea visiting my mum. There were record temps for UK in Feb! People in the sea, beach packed. We ate outdoors and left coats behind. Hugs Anne X
ReplyDeleteLove your new scissors and of course the blanket is just incredible. Glad you did not get a ton of snow. Little B was in our pool today. It was 82 out and 82 in the pool, much too chilly for me but he loved it.
