Saving a View and Big Moon

The KOIN-TV program aired yesterday, here is the segment for you to view.  I share it with trepidation as I cringe when I see myself talking, but I guess it is what it is.  I am proud to be in the organization that saved this viewpoint from being privately developed and have such fondness for our little park.  :-)

Last night was a full moon.. we saw it rise as we returned home from dinner out and an errand to get some new bathroom rugs.  It was HUGE and butter yellow over the horizon.. we raced home to get my big Lumix camera so I could get a shot.  Alas, all the ones I took of it low and yellow had too much "noise" in the air and did not come out well.  Right before we went to bed I went out and got this shot as it was high in the sky and it was sharper.  :-)

We crossed over the Sandy River coming home from dinner out and I saw the moon shining down the river.  I'd seen this years ago when the kids were young and I pulled over and we walked out on the bridge to enjoy it.  After getting my camera we went back and I walked onto the bridge and took a few shots.

When I walked back to the car I snapped this of the moon reflecting on the river through the trees.  I sure wish someone would cut some of these trees back so one could get a better shot.  LOL!

I'm off soon to volunteer at Multnomah Falls with my dear sister Denise.  That is always enjoyable, meeting people from all over the world who come to see our Columbia River Gorge.  Have a fabulous day!!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  9. Teresa,

what a wonderful interview! You did great. You know I’ve been to the viewpoint many times and it always takes my breath away. Kudos to Gertrude for having the vision to save all this beautiful land for the public to enjoy, and for all the women who have come after her and worked so hard. Your moon shots were fantastic. The Sandy River is a beautiful place.

    Blessings, Betsy
