Farewell Pacific and PWF Tour 2019

I last posted from our caravan at Lincoln Beach where we spent nearly 2 weeks enjoying this view and many adventures up and down the coast.  This is one of our last sunsets.. I love the puffy pink in the clouds and the lavender backdrop.

Then the sky was on fire.. so pretty.

Our little Mocha enjoyed being a beach bum/dog.  She also enjoyed returning home to her friend Meeka, our son and grandson.

Our son Travis, DIL Kristi and the boys came down on Monday after he got off work and spent Tuesday with us and having fun on the beach.  We all went out for lunch at Gracie's Sea Hag in Depoe Bay, I ordered the bay shrimp Louie and when it arrived I LOL'ed.. my lunch was LOOKING at me!

After lunch we went across HWY 101 to look for whales spouting.  If you're really lucky you'll see the back of the whale as it spouts and most exciting is when they flip their tail out of the water as they dive deep to feed.

Smile!

That evening the sun was shining through the waves so I took way too many photos trying to capture the backlit water... :-)

This is a wave right on the beach..

Our last sunset before packing up for the trip home on Wednesday.

Day is done.. gone the sun.. from the lakes, from the hills, from the sky.  The next morning the kids arrived, we stowed everything and Travis helped hook up the trailer to the truck and he drove it home with Dayle along with him.  I drove behind them to make sure nothing was amiss.  :-)

We made it home safely, unpacked the trailer, I put on a fresh tablecloth on the dining room table and cleared the decks, we went to town to get the car washed and the gas tank filled.. home for a shower and get ready for an early rising the next day.

The Portland Women's Forum Annual Spring Tour.  Everyone met at our farm for the car-pool and off we went to visit a place I'd never been - Bridal Veil Lakes - 13 of them!  We drove up a very steep, windy and forested road to the wonderful place that hosts up to 60 weddings yearly during the fine weather months.

The dried things you see are cat-tails, the new growth is not out yet.

Many of the more adventurous of our group walked around the whole lake.. see them across there?

Our first of several group photos we took during the tour!  :-)

Our next stop was to visit Forest Hall, the owners are friends of mine, Pat & Pat Brothers.  To differentiate I call them Boy Pat and Girl Pat. LOL!  This house was built to be a chicken restaurant to feed the people who toured the gorge when the Historic Columbia River Highway was opened to car traffic in 1915.

The home is beautifully decorated with period furniture and antiques.

I adore the dining room with all the windows and crystal chandelier, see the lilacs in bloom out the window?

There is a beautiful carved fireplace mantle in the living room.

Group photo #2.. :-)

Pat & Pat were wonderful hosts to our visit.  I just love their home.

Next stop was Multnomah Falls Lodge for lunch!  This is the Falls Room as you can see the waterfall while you dine.  We all had a delicious lunch and great fellowship as we enjoyed our meal.

Group photo #3!  LOL!  Everyone had a wonderful day, but boy was I tired out after 2 very busy days.  :-)

As we drove back to our farm we passed by the Camas patch that I photograph each year.  *snap*

This morning I saw on Facebook that my daughter posted photos of our granddaughter Paige.  I'm SO proud of her!  She had some of her artwork in a school show...

Designed the t-shirt that the chorus wore, and sang a solo during one of the songs they performed!  Way to go, Paige!!

Well.. that's our week.  What was the highlight of yours?  I have an organization project I'm doing in my armoire in our bedroom today.  Time to get back to it.

((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  2. Oh, my gosh! That first sunset picture is absolutely stunning. I can't believe how beautiful the sunsets were while we were at the beach and it looks as though they continued. I enoyed every single bit of this post. Thank you for sharing such wonderful spots with us. I really like Pat & Pat's house. I have always been fascinated with historical homes and furnishings so I especiallly enjoyed that tour.
I'm glad the two of you are home safe and sound. Maybe you'll have an opportunity to rest up a little bit this weekend.
I'm sitting in the trailer at the lake. Lots left to be done to open up but the inside is pretty much done. Dennis has to replace the kitchen faucet tonight because winter wasn't kind to the one we have and you can't just replace washers anymore. :-( . All of the outside work is yet to be done though. Raking, outdoor carpet/mats and the gazebo. I started raking this morning and now I've been down all afternoon in my recliner with back spasms. But...I'm still at the lake!
Wishing you a lovely weekend Teresa.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
