🌧 When you have busy sunny summer days for a stretch, a rainy day lets you slow down and do a bit of nesting. I'm getting more rows done on my Dune blanket and I even sewed in the ends. I've woven them in after each segment of colors so I've kept up with it. A sea of shells in oceanic colors is a joy to work on.
I subscribe to the British Country Living. It's so much better than the US version, which has shrunk in size and content. I like to read my magazines on days like this, too. I pass them on to my friend Gracie and my DIL Kristi.
A bit of sun shone through into the dining room.. it's already gloomy and dark again.
Even with the gloom I am going to head to the gym for my lap-swimming. One hour, no stopping. What are you up to today? Do you have sun or clouds? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Teresa we have sun and excessive heat. I hate to have the a/c on but it is really a good idea today. The men are going to a movie. Im going to nap and knit. I have been to too many doc appointments recently and yesterday was the EnT for the hoarseness. I just have reflux in my larynx area. HE told me to eat a plant based diet......??????? Ok. I'll try. Also pepcid at dinner and no snack before bed.
ReplyDeletelove your dune blanket. I used Lucy's pattern to make a bag. I lined it with pretty white with lavender flowers material. Very adaptable if you don't want to do a big project like a blanket.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about a rainy summer day. It's a good break. Your blanket is beautiful! It's way too hot and humid here to be working with yarn. I agree with you about the British Country Living--great magazine! Early this morning we took our walk and then I pulled weeds! Have a nice evening.
ReplyDeleteI love rainy days but we've been having perfect, cloudless winter weather here this week. The kids are even running around in t-shirt and shorts. xx Susan
ReplyDeleteTeresa, I think that is my favorite of all of your blankets. The colors are so pretty and soft. I do wish I lived close enough to take part in the sharing of your British Country Living. I let my US subscription expire for just the reasons you stated. I have read an issue or two of the British version and liked it very much. Maybe I'll see if I can get a subscription too.
ReplyDeleteWe had scattered showers all afternoon here too. I'm loving the sound on the trailer awning as I sit here and crochet.
Blessings,
Betsy
Your day sounded lovely in spite of the rain. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful Dune blanket progress. Margaret and I worked on knitting baby blankets and ran some errands. Some of the time we wore our matching teal Columbia rain jackets ☔️ Grateful for another good day together. Thanks for linking my blog to yours! ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteSunshine all the way at the moment. Your blanket is looking lovely and it is good to have a rainy day after lots of heat. Well done on the swimming, I’ve managed a sea swim every day since my return from holiday. B x
ReplyDeleteLove that beautiful blanket, the colour combination is a delight. The rain has stopped here but still a little overcast and gloomy.
ReplyDeleteI'll take a rainy day anytime! I love them so much, we just don't have enough of them! Soft, calm, cool rain fills my soul and energizes my imagination.
ReplyDeleteYup, rainy days, they're a good thing!
I save those special issues and all of the Fall & Winter issues. So much inspiration to be gleaned.
Such a pretty blanket! A rainy day is a great day to pull up a blanket, doze a little and read a little.
ReplyDeleteI love rain, rain clouds, storms and very little sun light. Maybe I have lived in Florida too long!
ReplyDeleteLove that blanket and go you Teresa keeping up with the swim 😀😀
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa. The blanket is coming along nicely, love it. I have decided to join in a KAL with my friend Karen. It is called Afternoon Tea! :-) Have ordered the yarn pack - even though I already have more than I could ever use. Agree with that meme! Certainly true in my case! I think I need to investigate that magazine as well. :-)
ReplyDeleteI actually like rainy days- as long as I don't have to go out anywhere! Hugs Anne x
