Moonrise

Last night was a full moon.. I forgot to take a photo.. but I DID take one night before last.  On August 14, it was a Waxing Gibbous, Illumination: 99%.

The shot above was after waiting for the moon to clear a band of clouds and getting high enough in the sky to get a good shot of it.  The photo below was my first attempt.. see the fencing there?  It's at the top of the hill behind our house.

Come on moon.. you can do it..

I might as well pull up a chair.. :-)  But finally I got a good one.. at the top.

I found a photo of the pool at Gracie's condo where we swam on Wednesday.  When I was there it was populated with a lot of ladies of our age range, floating in the sun and chatting up a storm.  The water was warmer than our regular pool, it was nice to be in the sunshine.

My daughter Amy posted 1st Day at School photos of Jenna and Paige.  My dear Jenna is starting her first year of high school!  My how time flies!

And look at little Paige, starting 5th grade.  Such adorable girls.

Here's wishing you a wonderful weekend!!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  2. Your granddaughters are just beautiful. We don't start school here in this part of the country until the week after Labor Day. The moon was gorgeous last night - it looked a pale pink here for a while. Your photos are great! Such patience!

  3. Those are gorgeous photos of the moon Teresa. Just beautiful.
It's hard to believe that your girls have grown so much. Our Kyleigh starts high school this fall and Caleb is in 7th grade! They start right after Labor Day. Piper started first grade yesterday.
Where does time go? Both Jenna and Paige are such pretty girls. I know you enjoyed their visit very much this summer and I'm so glad they were able to spend time with you and Dayle.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  6. I love your moon photos and lovely pictures of your girls.
It won't be long until it's back to school for my girls....one off to a new school and a little tiny girl going to pre-school for the first time. I think I will possibly cry when I see her in her uniform for the first time.
    Hugs-x-

  7. Our moon came up so big and orange. It was gorgeous. By the time I got back home to my *good* camera the clouds had rolled in and the moon was very hazy.

Good luck to your "girls" on their new school year. Hope they have a wonderful time.

  13. stunning shots of the moon Teresa. Your granddaughters are indeed growing up so quickly, as they do. Our eldest - Ella starts High School -she will soon be 12. Phoebe is still in Primary school and goes into Year 5. They don't go back until 3rd Sept. The pool looks very inviting. Take care Anne x
