I was browsing through the Vermont Country Store catalog I received the other day and these little gumdrop pumpkins jumped into my shopping cart on their online store. They are so fresh and taste like oranges. Yum!
Dayle has always loved the orange slice candy so I thought he'd like these. I offered some of these to our son Travis and our grandsons and they loved them too. I also got some licorice black cats but I'll put those out closer to Halloween.
I just took this photo with my iPhone - our nosy little Mocha has to see what is going on in our driveway - and she sits on my head! Sheesh.
I'm swimming this afternoon and then our grandsons are coming home on the bus here, it will be nice to see them. It's been raining for 4 days so there's that. Autumn is definitely here. Time to get back to crocheting my shell afghan.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Hi Teresa. I just showed Dennis the picture of the pumpkins and he said, "I love those orange slices with the sugar on them." No joke. I think he and Dayle are brothers! Ha!
ReplyDeleteMocha is darling. She likes her perch on your head for sure. And you let her do it!!!!! :-)
It was supposed to rain all day today on our drive across Montana and Wyoming but we didn't see a single cloud! It was a gorgeous drive. We're in Casper, WY tonight. Our hotel even has a recliner for me to rest my back.
Our housesitter says all is well at home and Chloe is fine. That makes it easier to be away.
Blessings,
Betsy
Love the Bonsai, Teresa! There is an elegance in Bonsai that is unmistakable. The photo of Mocha on your head is hilarious. What a joy she is for you all! We could use some rain, we are quite dry, but the temperature today was more fall like.
ReplyDeleteSweatshirt weather for sure. Heavy rain last night. WOW! Poured buckets! My mom always liked orange slices too. Found out at my uncle's funeral that he likes them too....mom's bro. It's supposed to be a bit warmer tomorrow. I need to knit some on my shawl this evening. Sweatshirt now!!! Take care ❤
ReplyDeleteLove gumdrops (any flavor!!). The VT Country Store (the "original/main" one in Weston) is only a short drive from where my Dad grew up. How long has Dayle had his bonsai? It is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteRaining here, too. We are at Wallowa lake with our little C-Dory. We are trying to cut back on sugar while here and your gumdrop pumpkins look so very tasty!
ReplyDeleteThose pumpkin sweets were a delight, they looked so tasty. I smiled at your adorable Mocha sitting on your head. Raining here too.
ReplyDeleteVermont Country Store is one of my favorites for finding older items. I'm still trying to find 'Halo Shampoo', but have had no luck, yet. I remember my mother washing my hair with Halo every Sunday evening. It had such a beautiful fragrance. Yes, VCS has a nice variety of old time candies.
ReplyDeleteWee Mocha is so cute. You're lucky she's so little. Our Scottie, Hamish, weighs 26-lbs, he's a year old and not a bit overweight. He's the biggest Scottie we've ever had, we love every energy filled pound of him. Can't wait until he started to slow down a little. (smile)
Dayle's, bonsai is looking so very healthy, with lots of new growth. We're loving this rain. Wish we'd get more and more. Hope we also get a good blanket of snow this year as well.
That photo of Mocha cracked me up! Have a wonderful time with your grandsons. xx Susan
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your grandsons. The gumdrop pumpkins look very sweet. And your puppy looks like a sweet character too.
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa the sweets look great fun. Liquorice cats sound fun too. We have been treated to an Indian summer this week but autumn is most certainly around the corner. Enjoy seeing your dear grandsons. Hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry I am so far behind reading your blog my dear friend. I have been so busy with work and getting all sorts of forms and things ready for Little Buddy to get more testing. I swear he is a full time job on top of my full time job. Autumn looks so beautiful with your wreath and decorations. Love the cheerleader photo and your yummy pumpkins to eat. have a wonderful and beautiful weekend Teresa.
ReplyDeleteOh think of you while it keeps raining here. Love that bonsai so cute. Enjoy grandboys xxoo
