πŸ’ Happy Valentines Day πŸ’

πŸ’ I am sending love your way from our little farmhouse in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon USA!

Dayle and I each had a Valentine care for each other this morning.  Sweet.

Look at all the Snowdrops in our front entry area, and the Nandina is covered with red berries.  Our grandsons are spending a few nights with us and are going to help grandpa take the xmas lights down today.  Caleb also used the blower to clean the deck off which had a bunch of tree debris on it from windy and stormy weather of late.  In looking at this photo it looks like the front walkway needs some blowing off too!

I volunteered at Multnomah Falls yesterday with my best friend from 7th grade.  It was cold and damp there so not a lot of visitors came in, but even on bad weather days we still had plenty of people coming in to ask questions.

I started feeling poorly as the afternoon wore on, achy muscles, and chills.  When I got home I started shaking and felt really bad.  I have to tell you I had so many ailments going through my mind.  Heart failure, diverticulitis.. or the Corona virus!!  I went to bed while Dayle took the boys to Dairy Queen for dinner.  He brought me a bowl of soft ice cream for my dinner.  I am better this morning but not 100%. So much for the special dinner plans I had!  We were going to take the boys to the Columbia Gorge Hotel.  Oh well.  ETA: I googled food poisoning and had all the symptoms.  So.. now to wonder where I got it.

I hope you have a wonderful day.  If you weren't given flowers and cards, I think you should go buy yourself a box of chocolates!

  3. Happy Valentine's Day. It is nearly over here now. DH and I each had a card from our secret admirers :-) I had a single red rose and he had some chocolate hearts. We were going to have a special dinner tomorrow, however now having a different special dinner at our son's - love it!
I hope that you are soon fully recovered Teresa. Take care. Hugs Anne X ♥️♥️♥️

  4. Those falls are marvelous!!! Had to call my husband in, to see them.

Sorry you are feeling poorly. Do hope you will be better, with some good rest.

And if not, hope you will see a doctor. Winter ailments are nothing to _not_ pay attention to.

    Gentle hugs...

  5. Teresa, your photos are all stunning. I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. I have to tell you that this virus is very concerning to us as Alex is in Japan. However, it seems that soon, it will be all over the world. I'm glad that you are feeling better already. Maybe a special dinner tomorrow instead?
Happy Valentine's Day my dear friend.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  6. Oh Teresa. I know now how you run through all those possibilities in your head fast! Im glad it was not anything more serious than an evening upset. I know for me, I avoid all dairy when I feel sick at all. But I crave it then. Weird. My mom used to give us Pepto bismol. I recently bought some while my father was dying. I think the emotion , just tore up my gut. Im visceral in reactions since I was A child.
Well, wow if that Pepto bismol didn't immediately help me! I know there is aspirin in it, but I am back to keeping around!

  7. Glad it was a fleeting bug! We don't celebrate Valentine's day (every day is Valentine's Day!) but we did buy some Booja Booja chocolates to share. Delicious! xx

  9. Happy Valentines Day Teresa! So sad to hear about your food poisoning, and hope you get over it soon. Whenever someone in the family has food poisoning or an upset stomach we always take activated carbon! It just works wonders and settles / balances the stomach flora in no time! Many best wishes from Macedonia!

  12. Such beautiful falls! Hope you're feeling better now. I had something very similar - thought it might be food poisoning but have no idea what could have caused it. So no chocolates or dinner out for me either on Valentine's Day.

    Those snowdrops are lovely. :)

  13. What gorgeous roses! Hubby and I both forgot it was Valentines and only remembered halfway through the day. We've taken a rain check for when he's home next. Sorry to hear you haven't been well but happy to hear you are on the mend. xx Susan
