Our new pellet stove was delivered and installed this afternoon. The guys doing the work were fabulous and knew their stuff. It took a bit over 2 hours and now we have the warm radiant heat again. I love it!
We bought the stove from a family owned business, this is the grandson of the owner.
The stove weighs 450 lbs!
They did an excellent job, adding a new top to the stovepipe, screwing it all together, spray painting the screws, sealing the pipe in many places, etc.
There are acorns and oak leaves embossed in the sides and on the top front of the stove. The color is "Majolica", a rich dark enamel brown. Done and dusted, whew!
We've had some lovely sunny weather. I even sat out on the deck for a long time on Friday visiting with Dayle and Kristi. I snapped the daffodils in bloom by the big rock with my metal goat on top. :-)
Here is the view from the deck.. ahhh.. sun. Our older son came over on Saturday and fixed his truck so it's no longer here. Grandson Michael came with him so we got to visit with both of them for a while.
Dayle picked one of our Jumbo daffodils for my brass bulb vase. I will keep one on my newly refinished piano stool right by my chair so I can see it and smell it's Spring aroma all day. :-)
On Sunday, yesterday, our son and Kristi invited us over for BBQ chicken dinner. After dinner we watched a movie called "The Bus" about the history and stories about the VW Bus. I loved it! My first new car of my young life - after we were married - was a 1970 red VW Bus "Campmobile". I adored that thing. Dayle's car was a 1968 GTO, metal flake olive drab color.
Oh how she loves massacring stuffed dog toys!
Our messy little girl. I wish she'd pick up after herself. We've got her trained to sit on command, now lay down.. and I'm starting to teach her to shake hands.
I am going to work on the border of my Dahlia afghan after I publish this blog post. I should be done by tomorrow! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Your blanket is almost done! How fun it will be to see it completed.
ReplyDeleteI think your new stove is beautiful. It amazes me how quickly these young guys install them. Ours was done in just a few hours too.
I'm glad you got to see both boys and their families this weekend. I know family means so much to you. I wish you could see your girls as often. It seems that Kristi loves Mocha too. That's quite a colorful unicorn.
I hope you have a wonderful evening sitting by the fire with your crocheting. Cozy. :-)
Blessings,
Betsy
Wonderful to hear you had some nice family time and that you can now be warm again. The stove looks great. I adore the photo of the red VW bus! xx Susan
ReplyDeleteThis morning I walked around our condo loop and took some photos of cheery Daffodils and Crocus in bloom while the lenses of my glasses got splattered by some raindrops from a passing rain shower :-) I have had my little electric fireplace stove going all day and loved seeing your pretty new stove in action keeping you warm and cozy as Mocha played and you got ready to finish crocheting your beautiful blanket. I've been working on my taxes! xx
ReplyDeleteYour stove is absolutely gorgeous! I love the view from your deck; it's a picture of perfect idyll. Your campervan looks like heaven on wheels, soooo 70's! Our Ranger loves nothing better than to tear a new toy to shreds. We buy cheap soft toys from charity shops as we bought him an expensive 'indestructible' dog toy for Christmas; it lasted half an hour!! Enjoy your crochet time. Love, Jane x
ReplyDeleteNice stove. There are actually electric ones here and I've always wanted to get one just for the cozy effect; not because we actually need a lot of heat. Love the vw pic. Wonder if they make a stuffed animal that Mocha can't massacre? :) Look forward to seeing your completed blanket.
ReplyDeleteLove your new stove!! It is so pretty!! Your little fur baby is adorable!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
Love your new cosy fire stove. Mocha obviously loves a good "play" with her soft toys. She looks as if she's saying, "Mess! What mess?" xx
ReplyDeleteThe stove is beautiful and makes for a very cosy and warm home. So glad you were able to visit with your family over the weekend, so much fun creating happy memories.
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa, how I love reading your blog, your photography and the right balance of topics always give me a lift. Mocha reminds me so much of my little yorkie girl - cute and cuddly but like a destroying angel with dog toys! I see Mocha has a Kong toy too.......now they really are tough!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, Alison
What a beautiful stove! That would feel nice here right now (grey, rainy day again). Love the daffodils too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great jog to my memory. My late husband and I had a red/white '73 camper when we were first married. I'm currently driving my 9th Beetle, from '72 till now.
ReplyDeleteNo daffodils in site here in Pittsburgh!
New stove fabulous 😀😀 Love daffodils xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteHooray for the new stove!!!!
Me'thinks every one should have one of those. For those awful times with out power especially. Although they must be lovely, all winter long.
😊 😊 😊
The stove is lovely Teresa. Would miss ours if it had to go. Photo of Mocha with her toy made me laugh, that's what our Grand Fur baby would do! Hugs Anne x
ReplyDeleteWow, that stove is beautiful. Many years ago we had a pellet stove but it had a more “utilitarian “ look to it. Lol! I always enjoy seeing Mocha. What a little sweetie.
ReplyDeleteCosy new 'fire'. :) I finished my afghan yesterday ending after 3 rounds of the outside. I didn't read the directions correctly for the edging but liked what I did and said 'good enough'. I love Lucy's colors!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty stove. I love the oak leaf decorations. You are lucky to have spring so early... we have at least another 6-8 weeks of winter here.
ReplyDeleteOH you have green grass Teresa!!! I am so jealous. That stove is just gorgeous.
