This summer has zoomed by. Our Dahlia garden has brought us a lot of joy. I have ordered a few more varieties from Swan Island Dahlias which will be sent to us in the Spring in time for planting.
See the honey bee on the flower on the left?
This is one of my favorites.
We drove in to pick up some groceries we ordered so we took Mocha with us - we get a huge kick out of how she loves to stick her head out of the window and her hair gets plastered back.
Enjoying the pond, the sound of the water falling and the fish.
Look how big our new koi are getting, Tiger loves to eat.
I took a walk around the garden to snap some photos, this is one of the Rose of Sharon bushes with lots of buds.
Another ROS.
I was out by the shed.. I snapped this of a man and his dog in his rocking chair by the pond.
Daylilies.
The 2nd sunflower to bloom.. it's very tall.. at least 8 feet.
This one is pretty and the petals are nice.
Some of you have asked to see the chickens.. here there are! We've been giving them some of the big zucchini and other things from the garden. They love to dig in the ground and dust themselves.
This is our big old apple tree and pasture at the back of our property. There are several old plum trees back there, Dayle has been eating them when he goes by on his riding mower.
We have been eating ripe tomatoes from our vines.
Our little Dahlia we planted last year in front of the shed.
Dayle took a few photos of the Dahlias in the late afternoon golden light I thought I'd share.
Our one deep red one with the garage/barn and shed - and my Flex in my carport.
My view from the family room into the dining room.. the sunflowers are still just like new.. they are lasting very well and are so spot on for this time of year.
And lastly.. the progress I'm making on the crocheted lantern. I really like how this reminds me of a hot air balloon. I'm nearing completion, then to make a tassel for the bottom. That should be interesting.
It always brings me joy to see your home and garden. In my dreams that's how I would live if I somehow didn't get stuck out here in the woods. Araignee
ReplyDeleteTeresa, I don't think I 've ever seen a less than pretty post from you. It is so good that you share the peace of your home with us. So so good. I love Dayle's dahlia photos! His eyes must be Ok? I love dog out the window shots too . And please that lantern is the BESt
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing Mocha in the car so much fun for her. Love all of your flowers lifting my mood for the day in lockdown 😀😀 The Koi sure have grown 😀 will they catch up with your big one soon?
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are absolutely gorgeous! I'm going to have to plant some dahlias next year, they are so pretty. Love the photo of Mocha enjoying her ride!
ReplyDeleteI never tire of looking at your delightful garden. No photo is the same there is always something new to see....and the colours!! Fabulous image of Mocha enjoying the breeze on her face as you drive along. I so appreciate you sharing these snapshots of your home with us. The crochet lantern is looking very good indeed......lovely vivid colours. keep well Amanda x
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa and Dayle too! Oh those dahlias! They are gorgeous my friend. I especially love the pink/purple one. But you could guess that couldn't you? Your beautiful yard and gardens give so many of us peace in this crazy world that we find ourselves in. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI ordered an Iphone 11 just minutes before I saw your comment recommending the 11 pro. Oh well, I'm sure it will be fine for me. My current phone is over 6 years old! No wonder it's slowed way down and doesn't want to do updates anymore. I can pick the phone up at the apple store tomorrow at noon. I hate going to the store but otherwise it would take several days and we don't know when we're going to have to drop everything and drive to Nebraska again for Karen's service. At least we should be able to have a funeral for her, unlike my brother who passed from Covid in May. There were no goodbye's there and that makes it even harder I think. No closure.
WOW! Where did that all come from. We need to talk sometime. Maybe if I have trouble setting up my phone I'll call for technical assistance. :-)
Blessings,
Betsy
Such beautiful dahlias, they are a real delight. Loving your crochet project too, so cheerful. Take care.
