Patient Update & Garden Images

My dear husband is home.  I picked him up at 1 pm yesterday and he's doing very well.  This surgery was less invasive than the last one where they had to cut out a cancerous tumor that had wrapped it's roots around his spinal and vocal cords.  He's in so much less pain this time and is eating solid food and resting well with good pain management.  His little fur girl was glad to have her daddy home.  Thank you to those of you who left supportive comments and those who had us in your thoughts and prayers.  It was very much appreciated.  :-)

As I walked across the garden to the house I snapped a few photos of our flowers and plants.  This is a new favorite of mine, Hotlips Salvia.  I hope it comes back next year.

The Lantana in that same pot.

This 4th of July rose is almost all red, very unusual.  This bush is not doing well for some reason, so I was glad to see a few new blooms.

I'm always looking for tomatoes, they are there but still green.  We had our first rain for months and it felt really good.  I guess I am a true Oregonian as I like the rain.  :-)  In moderation, of course, not months on end..

See all the little 'maters?  The variety is called Black Cherry and were recommended to me by my daughter.  So I guess I should not be looking for them to turn red?

I managed to get 5 out of the 6 fish in one photo.  Keiko, Pierre, Tiger, Marmalade and Kumquat - missing is Ashley.

I was scrolling down my Facebook feed and Alia from "The Little Bee" posted these lanterns by another designer.  I fell in love with them and bought the pattern and a few supplies from Amazon which will arrive tomorrow.  I will show you the project when I make one.. or two.

Well.. that's it for us right now.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Any exciting plans?  Do share!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. So good to see Dayle home, I hope he has a speedy recovery. Good that the surgery wasn't as invasive this time. Your flowers are beautiful as ever, and lovely to see your fish. Water is such a lovely addition to a garden. We had a damselfly here earlier, flying round the pond, which I was so happy to see. The lanterns are brilliant, what a clever idea. I shall look forward to seeing you make one. I hope you have a good weekend. CJ xx

  2. Dayle is looking good. Glad not a lot of pain. Love the flower pics. The lanterns will look lovely on your porch/patio with your rockers. Finally finishing my scrappy granny square covid blanket! And planning a c2c chevron blanket. Don't need it, just marking time. Be well taking care of your patient♥

  12. I can only imagine how happy Mocha was to see her Daddy safely at home again. Has she left his side? I'm glad this surgery wasn't as bad as the last one. Your flowers are gorgeous and those lanterns are pretty too. I've never seen anything like them.
I hope you both have a good weekend and enjoy your time together as Dayle heals.
    Blessings,

  15. Wonderful news! Welcome home Dayle! Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos of your fish, flowers, tomatoes, and the pretty lanterns. Yesterday my laptop created a LOUD horrible buzzing siren type sound. After fearfully fiddling with the controls I found by putting the speaker on mute I could still use the computer but I wondered if it was getting ready to explode! Elisabeth stopped by to help me with some other electronic challenges I was having (microwave broken, radio/cd player access door opening and closing whenever it wants to). I unmuted the speakers on the computer so she could hear the horrible sound. She was impressed! Brilliantly she asked if I had powered the computer off recently. I had but not since it started making the horrible noise. Powering the computer off fixed it! I am so glad! I drove nearby for groceries yesterday but am resting/gently flexing my sore right arm today as I do routine chores and plan to participate in online church services this weekend. I hope you and Dayle have a happy healing weekend!! love and ((hugs))

  17. I haven't been online for a little while now so I missed the news about Dayle. Poor guy! I'm glad to hear he is recuperating but it must have been super stressful for both of you!
Those lanterns are stunning! I have two metal hoops that I could use. I might chase up the pattern and give it a go. Thanks for the recommendation!
We've had to go into Stage 4 lockdowns here in Melbourne Australia as our numbers leapt up a bit. We can't travel more than 5kms from our homes unless you're an essential worker with a permit, there's an 8pm curfew and nobody is allowed outside without a mask. Seeing your lovely Summery photos are a real delight :)
Hugs to you and Dayle xox
