π₯ Oh dear. π The fires in Oregon have gotten really bad, whole towns are burned and people have lost lives. A 12 year old boy and his grandmother burned to death and his mom is badly burned and in intensive care. We have no idea how many more people are lost at this point. Travis and Kristi are bringing the dog and the boys and what they can carry and are heading this way. Good thing we fixed up the upstairs bedrooms so they are ready for them. The fires are getting close to their house and they decided to go ahead and evacuate now. See the smoke in the air?
This is a picture from the space station and you can see the fires burning in Oregon.. the one at the top is the one threatening our sons home.
The Canna Lily is looking nice.. next 3 pix.
Some late season 4th of July roses are blooming.
Fishy pix.
I saw something way up on the hill behind our house and so got my zoom camera and look what was up there!
Then I zoomed to capture a hummingbird and when I downloaded it, there was another one behind it!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
We had a lot of thick smoke here in town. So bad that I stayed indoors most of the day til after 3. I have packed some clothes and set meds out in case we need to leave. So far, it's just yucky air. Where our son and family live in OR City is not good, and they are ready to leave when told to go. I am not sure where they will be headed. I pray your son's house stays safe. I watched some videos of fires lately and astounded as what has happened with the fires! It's sad to have to go through all this and the pandemic this year. History for sure! I enjoyed seeing your canna lilies. I did have one open up and that was it. I didn't have them in the sun area long enough this year. Roses are still blooming though! Take care and have a good next few days.
ReplyDeleteLove hugs prayers Teresa to you all xoxo

ReplyDeleteI've been watching on the news with horror. I can't believe the photos from yesterday. Can this year get any worse?
ReplyDeleteStay safe. Araignee
It's horrendous, I'm so sorry it is close to your son's home, and I do hope the fire doesn't damage it. I saw about the fires in California as well, hard to comprehend the scale of it all. I'm sending my very best wishes to you all. CJ xx

ReplyDeletestay safe Amanda x
Teresa, when we saw these fires on the news last night I thought of you and your family. I pray that the rains will fall and the fires will diminish. Take care of yourself, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't realized the Oregon fires were so bad and so close! Will keep Travis & Kristi and all of you in my thoughts. They are lucky to have your place to come to, but I sure hope their house is safe. Take care!
ReplyDeleteMust be a relief to have your son and family back with you. Such a scary time. Hoping their house escapes damage. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteThat's terrible! What next for 2020, right!?! Hope your son's home will be safe. Glad you can gather together at your home. It will bring comfort to you all. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we had the chance to talk last night. You are a good friend to listen and encourage me. We have thick smoke all around us this morning too. I have no idea which fire it's from since we have fires in every direction. Dennis pulled out important things from storage for me to put in the car if it looks like I have to evacuate. He didn't want me to have to climb or lift heavy things since he had to leave. Lets hope it doesn't come to that but since we have temps predicted in the 90's through the weekend it doesn't look good.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for Travis and Kristi that their home will be safe and for so many others in Oregon, Washington and California.
Blessings,
Betsy
Cuidate queriada amiga y cuidar a tu hijos y nietos. Saludos

We have been watching the northwest fires on the news each evening. It's all so scary. I would have thought that with everything else going on we would have been spared the fires and hurricanes and floods, but I guess that is not to be. My heart breaks for those affected, I will keep your son in our prayers that their home is spared.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and hoping you and your family stay safe. Your flowers look lovely, as always. Wish I had your 'green thumb'. Do you think that cat might be the one that used to visit you a long time ago?
ReplyDeleteI am glad Travis and his family can be with you and hope their house stays safe. Elisabeth and Gary decided to drive their camper from their home near Carver to Gary's aunt's property in Scapoose this afternoon. Gary's dad had to evacuate from near Eagle Creek. Smoke makes it look cloudy and smell like campfires over here, too. Your flower, fish, bird, and kitty photos are a beautiful distraction for me. Thanks. πππ€
ReplyDeleteI can’t imagine how you must all be feeling. I hope your son’s home stays safe and that the fires can be stopped. Thinking of you all xx
ReplyDeleteYou are in my thoughts Teresa. So glad your son and his family can stay with you until the immediate danger is over. I hope their house and property stay safe. xx
ReplyDeleteHello, sending prayers for you and your family. I hope your homes are safe from the fires, these wildfires are so scary. Love the view of the farm and flowers. The fish are pretty and I love the hummers. Take care and stay safe. Wishing you a happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI immediately thought of you when I saw the news here in the UK. I hope you all stay safe and that your son's house is spared.
ReplyDeleteOh Dear Teresa. Poor all of you. Those boys just got into their new home . Kristi and your son, all independent and yet so connected. I'd just separate those dogs. Everyone is under stress. No one needs a bite or a nip between the two dogs. Everyone just feels defensive and bad then. But, you usually have a good grip on the goings on at your place. I will certainly pray for all involved in these awful fires. I shall now shut up about 3 days of rain in Wisconsin
ReplyDeleteIf I hear another word that global warming is fake I think I will go ballistic! I have always been for the environment, clean air and water. You poor souls, so much stress and you sure have many things to keep you worried. I wish I could do something to help, but I will pray God gives rain to all those suffering through this. Hang in there Kasner family.
