I am loving having a Dahlia garden! Fresh flowers all the time. Plus they thrive into the Autumn so that's extra wonderful.
Our older son Shawn and our grandson Michael brought two more cars over as they are in a fire danger zone although it has been upgraded. Michael brought his girlfriend over and introduced her to us and they brought their two dogs over for a run around the pasture. This is Meeka on the left and Shadow on the right, both German Shepherds. We kept social distance during their visit. I sure do miss hugs.
Thank you for all your wonderful encouraging messages to our family during this fire and smoke crisis. It has meant a lot to us. The AQI (air quality index) here is 327. Thankfully Kristi brought a medical quality air purifier for us all to use during their stay here. The boys are having online school here. Caleb set up his own bedroom and classroom in the attic. Dayle had a Covid-19 test yesterday ahead of his iodine radiation treatment which starts tomorrow, he goes in 3 days in a row. He has been getting our trailer ready to live in while he's in isolation. I got a Covid test today. His was negative and my results will be ready tomorrow.
Life in 2020? I sure hope life where you are is better. Thanks for your visit and your encouragement. You're the best!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
I’m so glad you were able to see so many of your family even if you can’t hug them. Dennis should be home tomorrow and I am ready for him to stay here for a while. I must admit, I have been pretty lonely the last few weeks. Chloe is probably tired of me talking to her! Poor Gracie called me the other night and we talked over two hours Ha! If the smoke sticks around much longer I will be definitely looking at air purifiers. I’m very careful and don’t open the door very much and so far the smoke has been staying out of the trailer pretty well. I agree with your sentiments on 2020. Bleh! Take care my dear friend.

Betsy
I left you a comment but it seems to have disappeared. :-(
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you're missing your hugs. That seems to be a common thing I hear a lot, people miss being hugged. I'm glad you get to see your family though. I'm sure missing Dennnis. Hopefuly he won't go anywhere else for awhile. I must admit, it's been pretty lonely here without him and sitting here by myself. I talk to Chloe a LOT and poor Gracie. She called the other night and we talked over 2 hours! I've looked at Air Purifiers on Amazon but want to talk to Dennis about it and he's been pretty busy. So far the trailer has seemed to stay fairly smoke free. I don't open the door up much at all. I sure hope this goes away soon. It's awful. Take care my dear friend. Love to Dayle and let him know I'll be praying for him during his treatments.
Blessings,
Betsy
Teresa, your dahlias are simply beautiful. I'm so glad you have them to gaze at, particularly now. You and your family, please stay safe and know that I am praying for your safety, my friend.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are all safe, you are on my mind so much during this tough time.
ReplyDeleteStill hoping their home is not in any danger! Praying for you all. Praying for your pretty eyes. An airpurifer ....Krisiti is genious. I LOVE German Shepards
ReplyDeleteGood to know you are all ok and keeping safe. Love seeing all the dogs although I am scared of most dogs lol Here in regional area can get out and about after midnight wednesday. Not that we will do much but plan to see Paul's Julia and baby Jaylen 😀😀
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the beautiful photos of your glorious flowers, dear family, and furry friends. May the Lord bring you healing and His peace in the midst of Dayle's treatments, your surgery and wildfire and pandemic concerns. Tomorrow is Tim's 45th birthday! love and ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteGood to know all your family are safe. I hope their homes are too. Wishing Dayle well for his radiation. As far as I'm concerned, there's only been one good thing about 2020 - the birth of our first grandchild in June. Although, as they live a couple of hours drive from us and with the Covid restrictions, we've only seen him twice. Masked and sanitised cuddles but no kisses. Photos and videos aren't the same! Stay safe. Sending hugs. xx
ReplyDeleteYou remain in my prayers and of course more for Dayle as he goes through radiation treatment. So nice to see the photos of your beautiful flowers and family. Take care dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you every time I see the news from your region. Hope all goes well with Dayle’s treatment and he recovers quickly. Good to see the beauty of your dahlias. B x
ReplyDeleteTeresa, I do hope the fires are under control soon. I'm so glad you have your family around you, I imagine it's busy! The dogs are lovely, great that Mocha is getting used to Ozzie. I keep watching the fire news and hoping that it will all be over very soon. I am sending my very best wishes to Dayle for his treatment, you are all in my thoughts. CJ xxxxx
ReplyDeleteHello Teresa. The dahlias are gorgeous and they are some of my favourite flowers. Dad used to grow them. I was relieved to see your post and hear you are all OK. Yes I miss the hugs so much. My granddaughters are back at school and so we are avoiding hugs. Luckily can still visit at our homes. Areas close by are on lockdown and can't. My D. I. L.can't visit her mum and vice versa. They can meet up at restaurant etc, not homes or gardens. Thinking of you all, especially Dayle and his treatment. Stay safe. Anne x
ReplyDeleteGoodness, you certainly have a lot going on right now. It does feel like the world has gone mad this year and there is no let up in sight. I’m so glad you have your family around and with you, that must be such a comfort. Wishing you all well, especially Dayle who has been through so much recently. Take care x
ReplyDeleteWhat a gang!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe what you all are going through in the west and now more hurricanes in the Atlantic. I would hate to be an insurance company these days.
Stay safe!

Glad everyone is doing well Teresa. Gosh these fires are just so horrible. A co-worker who lives in CA just sent me pictures and it looks like the sky is on fire! Our skies are hazy today and they say it is from the fires out West! Beautiful flowers. Best of luck to Dayle iwth his upcoming treatment - hope all goes well.
ReplyDeleteSo nice that you have family all around you. Makes going thru these weird times a little easier. Your dahlias have inspired me to plant some next year... yours are so beautiful. Keeping you all in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteNo Teresa, you are the best, a trooper for hanging in there with so many things to deal with. I would be like a hen on a hot rock. I think about you everyday. My youngest daughter has friends in Washington State, and I have a school chum that lives in California. He was in my art class 4 years in high school and is a neon artist. I am so happy that you have family there to help give you support and encouragement. Thinking about Dayle too. Hope he makes it through all this with flying colors.

Your dahlias are beautiful...so inspiring...as are you dear Teresa! So many stressful things to deal with but you keep on bravely. I hope all goes well for Dayle and for you this week and send lots of love to you and your family during these difficult times. XXX
ReplyDeleteThe dogs look so adorable! I am glad you are all safe. My son and family were here for a night. It was so good to see them. It is still smokey in our area, worse today than Tues. Hopefully it will rain soon. I still have roses out front. I need to water plants today. Gave some a bit yesterday. Still dry and thankful to see the sun with clouds around it the last couple days. I need to peek out and see if it's there. Chilly today. I enjoy seeing the birds and hearing them sing and eat food from feeders. Take care and continued prayers and hugs, my friend!! x------x Becky :'}
