I post my blogs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday if possible. I thought it was Thursday all day until I was looking at when a few things were supposed to be delivered and was shocked to realize I was a day off. LOL! So, better late than never, right? I spent time yesterday rolling more red candles and wrapping gifts. I think I'm all set on that front! Yay!
I went through 10 sheets of red beeswax and had to get another box. You get 20 candles out of the box of 10.
I rolled 8 candles.
My shepherd in the Nativity had lost his crook/hook/staff and so Dayle cut a piece of wire coat hanger for us to make a new one. We hot glued it to the shepherd and I love how it looks.
This afternoon I remembered 2 ornaments that I'd gotten after Christmas last year so I found them and hung them on the tree. I am a member of The White House Historical Association and they bring out a new ornament each year, this is the new one. I was in high school when JF Kennedy was shot and it broke my heart as I really admired and loved him. I was very pleased that they honored him this year.
Your house looks so red/green and Christmas ready. I've not put out as much this year, but do want to get some grocery store flowers. I love fresh flowers year round. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures as usual! I was in 9th grade when JFK was assassinated. I’ll never forget it. Enjoy your wonderful Christmas celebration & family. We’re going to visit our daughter & boyfriend for a short, masked visit in their new home & a quick snack on Christmas. Our son & his family will be another day. Just can’t do much this year☹️☹️☹️
ReplyDeleteGorgeous 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄😀😀😀😀😀 We have catchups over a 2 weeks span gonna be tired lol
ReplyDeleteOh your photos. They are gorgeous . My mom loved JFK and Bobby Kennedy too. she read everything she could on the Kennedys. So I'll try to get some photos that are more .....festive!! You raise the bar Teresa!
ReplyDeleteGood job on the candles, they are so pretty. I wonder how many people you have rolling beeswax candles after reading about it here? I remember when JFK died too. I wasn't in school yet, but I do remember my Mom sobbing as she watched the funeral. Dayle did a great job with the flowers. They're gorgeous. I laughed when I read about your confusion as to the day. That was me on Tuesday. I thought it was Wednesday all day long!
ReplyDeleteWe have absolutely no plans for the weekend, except watching church online on Sunday. Lots of relaxing time and walks with Chloe as it's supposed to be much warmer than usual.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
I have been having trouble tracking the day...I keep thinking Friday is Saturday...maybe because Lis has been stopping by almost every Friday as she has a four day work week...so grateful she is in my "bubble!" Brilliant job on the shepherd's crook and your pretty candles you two!! Have a great time with Hayden! I have a Zoom call and some online services I want to participate in on Sunday and I hope to get some red beeswax candles rolled on Saturday and online shopping completed as well. Happy Weekend! ❤️🤗
ReplyDeleteGlad I’m not the only one who is forgetful. Love the White House baubles such a lovely idea. Lots of loveliness in your house at the moment. Enjoy your grandsons visit. As of today we cannot mix households indoors except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Hey Ho! B x
ReplyDeleteI was all confused on Thursday and Friday - the children confused me because school ended on Thursday, so it felt like Friday, then on Friday I was convinced it was Saturday. You've made a brilliant job of the candles. And how lovely to have a collection of White House ornaments. You really do do Christmas very beautifully. I hope you have a lovely weekend with Hayden. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteMy BIL used to work for the printing company that always did the White House cards. Every year he would give me one and I had quite the collection. It was interesting to see how the different presidents were reflected in the designs. Speaking of which, Daughter has a friend who is the person who works with the current first lady (!) on the Christmas designs at the White House. She's been there for years. She can't say much now but when you know who is out of office I'm sure she will have some stories to tell about that experience.
ReplyDeleteYour candles are a delight, there will be some very lucky recipients. Beautiful flowers from Dayle they look stunning under the snowflakes. No real plans just enjoying each others company and a little baking.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you are an artist by the lovely way you wrap your presents! You home is looking beautiful and your candles turned out really nice. Best wishes for a happy, healthy Christmas and New Year!
ReplyDeleteDear Teresa, your house looks so beautifull and I love the way you tell us about all the stuff in your house and in your tree! So lovely Dayle takes you flowers or other presents! It means he loves you very much! Here in the Netherlands most shops are closed because of covid. Supermarkets, drugstores and bakery's are open. But as long as my relatives and me are healthy, you won't hear me complain. I 'll spend time with them during our two Christmasdays. (Like it is in the Netherlands. ) Wish you and your family a warm and lovely Christmas and a happy 2021!! Love, Janneke, Netherlands.
ReplyDeleteI was only 5 when Kennedy was shot, but I remember my mother was very shaken and upset!
ReplyDeleteThe flower arrangement from Dayle is beautiful Teresa. He spoils you (but I repeat myself...LOL). All your packages look so pretty and I love your beeswax candles - the red and the green bundled together look so pretty. We have decided to just have lights on our tree this year. I will miss seeing some of the ornaments, but I like how we are relaxed and lazy! The tree is so pretty with the lights on.
ReplyDeleteFrom today until January 5th it will be Sunday every day in my house, I love that thought. I get muddled with weekdays often, particularly since I am working at home and the routine is always the same. Dayle is a star, buying you this lovely bunch of flowers. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the visit with your grandson x
ReplyDeleteI made beeswax candles years ago, it was so much fun. Your house looks so warm and festive Teresa. I'd love to be there with all the decorations and lights chatting away with you and Dayle. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteDayle did a great job making the shepherd's staff. I admire your intention to blog three times a week. Lately I've had a hard time doing one a week. Enjoy your grandson's visit. We finished our wrapping and cleaning and I still need to make a few batches of cookies. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThe snowflakes are beautiful ....very fine! Did you make them? Such a lovely photo of the bouquet of flowers that Dayle has bought you. Everything fits so well, candles, snowflakes, table cloth and flowers. Such good taste!! keep well Amanda x
