💝🌹 Hearts and Flowers 🌹💝

🌹💝 Would you believe we looked (as in Dayle looked in the attic) for my Valentine tablecloth for days and finally found it for me?  What a wonderful husband!  He surprised me with the roses several days ago and all they needed was the tablecloth.  What he couldn't find was the bin where my 3 cute little valentine children figurines were.  Bummer.  Oh well!

These roses are gorgeous and are holding up well.. sometimes they droop quickly but these are standing tall and proud and are opening slowly.  So pretty.

I laid out my handmade heart pins - the one on the top left is a gift from my blog friend Betsy and I think the knitted one is from Gracie and I made the 3 felt and sequin ones 20 years ago!

I spent time scrubbing the inside and shelves of my blue cabinet and my grandson Caleb helped on the lower ones and the top.

Once they were scrubbed with soap and water and dry I spread some wood "feed and wax" on the shelves.  The wood drank it up and glowed!  Dayle found some old windows in our barn with old wavy glass and took them and the cabinet doors to a glass shop where they cut the glass to fit and installed it, he picked them up yesterday next he'll screw the doors in place.

My new jadeite "baby".  It's a Houze Ivy Ball - the base has two adorable little seals holding the ball.  It originally came with a handblown light green glass ball with a small hole at the top, but most of these got separated from their "ball" and only the base is found by itself.  So, I got a replacement 4" ivy ball which has etched vines and a flower.  I love it.

The little seals are charming, they have little webbed feet, beady eyes and the tail is webbed, too.

I decided to take a few cuttings from my heart leafed philodendron to root in water.  I'm already enjoying having it beside me and will enjoy watching the roots emerge and grow.

The little roots were already trying to grow on the vine so I know this will thrive.

I have no progress to show you on the Meadow blanket because I decided I needed to weave in all the ends before starting the next group of colors.  I finished that last evening.  Today I will get started on it again.  For those who are curious where I am on my purple shawl, it's in a red leather satchel waiting until I get around to it again.  Time out!  LOL!  I hope you're having a fine week and thanks for visiting.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. I LOVE your tablecloth! It's hard to believe Valentine's Day is only a few weeks away now. I just climbed up on top of the fridge to water my philodendron. I apparently is very happy up there. I haven't seen it look so good. My neglecting it is doing wonders. Araignee

  2. The glass ball and stand are wonderful, and you're making a beautiful job of the cabinet. Things like that are very satisfying aren't they? Your Valentine's table is looking so pretty, well done Dayle on finding the tablecloth! I was looking at my jewel orchid and wondering whether a cutting would root earlier today. I might give it a go. CJ xx

  4. I always enjoy seeing your Valentine's decorations. It's too bad you can't find the figurines but the roses make up for it a bit don't they? So pretty. Your cabinet will be like new! I'm looking forward to seeing the new doors. I like your new bowl too. It will be fun to watch the roots grow and will be a visual reminder that spring will be here before too long.
My excitement today was trying to get Dennis an appointment for the vaccine. It was the first day for a mass vaccine site here. I was able to get him an appt. online and then it flipped me to another page and gave me another time. I finally got through by phone and the computer hadn't verified either appointment so we're out of luck. I'll have to try again, but I think I'll wait a week or two.
    Hello to Dayle.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. You really have interesting pieces of jadeite, Teresa. My mother had an ivy ball with philodendron cuttings. Your roses and tablecloth look beautiful on your table. I have very little Valentine decorations. We did do some grocery shopping today and bought steaks to enjoy on Valentine's Day. Stay warm and cozy.

  9. That cabinet is going to look great! Can't wait to see it. Your table looks lovely. Have you checked your St. Patrick's Day decoration box to see if the valentine people are in there? Sometimes I put away decorations while I am taking out what I have for the next holiday?!! Hope you find them!
