Happy Friday, dear readers! I completed two more rows on my Meadow Blanket by Lucy from Attic24. I'm not a super fast crocheter. But slow and steady wins the race.. right?
A closer look at the X stitch Lucy devised.
I ordered 2 parchment lampshades for my pair of jadeite lamps and happily they fit and are appropriate size to the lamps. And my friends, the warm glow in the dining room is so wonderful as it's pretty dark in there during the long winter nights and even all year when the sun sets. I'm so pleased!
It's so nice to be able to mix my love of jadeite with such useful objects such as lamps.
It used to look so dark in there from my easy chair. I have one chair where I stash things, don't judge.. :-)
The lilies are opening up and filling the house with perfume and beauty.
Our grandson Caleb asked to spend the night with us so Kristi brought him over yesterday and stayed for a nice visit. She brought us a plate of breakfast cookies, so thoughtful. We asked Caleb if he wanted pizza or a drive through cheeseburger and he chose the latter. After dinner we went to Coastal Farm Supply and picked up 4 bags of chicken food. When we arrived home this was the scene as I headed to the farmhouse.
I love a sunset by the barn.
Our chickens stopped laying as winter set in, but it's been such a mild winter that a few of them have started to lay! Yay!
This egg holder even has a story. It's my "Lady Mary" egg stand. When watching "Downton Abbey", the episode when Mary helps the farmer with the pigs, they go back to the abbey kitchen where she whips up some scrambled eggs for them and she had an egg holder just exactly like this.. so I did some looking on eBay and found this and now it's mine. Me and Lady Mary have one thing in common. :-)
One blue-green egg from one of our Ameracauna chickens.
Well.. that is all my news.. 5 more days. I hope you are all well and please stay safe. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
