Greeting dear readers! Are you ready for a nice weekend? We have our grandsons with us for a few days. Travis and Kristi brought them over yesterday afternoon and we had a wonderful visit with them while Kristi made dinner for us all! She made lasagna, salad, toasted French bread and green beans. I must say it was such a lovely and joyful experience for us knowing how close we were to losing our beloved son. ::deep breath::
This blanket continues to grow, I have 3 more colors to finish off my 3rd section of 15 colors. One more section and I will have the size I want and will do the border colors that Lucy designed.
The trolley cart I use to keep my yarn organized is soooo helpful. Many people use ball winders to roll up their yarn, but I have had good luck by pulling out the end from the bottom of the skein and keeping the label/band on it so I can double check the color. When the band gets loose, I fold it over and tape it so it still holds the yarn together nicely, not too tight.
The roses Dayle got for me are opening up and are showing more peachy yellow/orange, such happy colors.
Dayle made a beef stew out of the roast dinner and added celery, onion, garlic, Worcestershire and it was so savory!
Do you have any exciting weekend plans? Do share!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Those roses are so pretty Teresa! And your afghan - oh my - it is getting big! Love all your yarn together on the trolly. We are having salmon, baked potatoes and peas for dinner. Tomorrow the kids will be over and since they are vegan for several weeks, I am making Cuban bread, quacomole and enchilada stuffed mushrooms. I tried to find a dessert to make, but everything I looked at either had butter or eggs or both! Those are not part of a vegan diet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat it was for you to all be together for dinner! It is so special that you grandsons are staying with you for the weekend - such fun. And great that they will help with the pellets - that is a big job for sure. We are having pizza for dinner, too!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and a friend are taking our C-Dory to the coast for the day tomorrow to go crabbing. I will stay home with our wild Labrador pup, Barley. If the weather is anything like today, I will take advantage and hang down comforters and pillows out to air. Nice days are such a treat! Happy Weekend!
Very pretty roses. Fabulous Kristi and much love to Travis and all. Enjoy your weekend xoxo
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful news that Travis is doing so well. Have a wonderful time with the boys and enjoy that blanket, which is gorgeous by the way. Stay safe Teresa. Love to you.
ReplyDeleteYour blanket is just gorgeous! Such happy colors. It will be a real joy to put into use. Araignee
ReplyDeleteThe blanket is beautiful Teresa. I love the way you chose the colors to go together. I'm looking forward to seeing the border. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm SO glad Travis, Kristi and the boys were over for dinner. I know how much that must have meant to you and Dayle. Lucky girl seeing your boys so much. I'll be able to hug Piper SOON! It's been almost a year and a half! Alex & Tara have set thier wedding date for August so I'm praying travel will be possible by then as they want us there.
I'll be driving by myself to Omaha and yes, will be in a hotel(s) by myself. I'm planning on only taking two days for the drive but you know how far it is. If I get too tired I'll stop for a second night. I had planned to have Chloe to talk to on the trip but.....
I listed our small trailer for sale on FB marketplace today so we're hoping to get some interest this weekend as it's supposed to be beautiful. Those are our plans. I want to get some things out of storage to pack in the car for the trip. I hope I have room for my yarn! :-) We had both wanted to come to Portland and have a visit before the move but with Mom's illness I guess it's not meant to be. We're now hoping for a trip up this way summer 2022.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Take care and love to Dayle. Kisses for Mocha.
If tomorrow is as sunny as today I hope to spend some time outside enjoying it! I was given some yarn in pastel colors and maybe I will start crocheting a baby blanket with it this weekend in between time on the computer. Hope you have a wonderful weekend with your loved ones and enjoy adding some more stitches to your beautiful blanket.((hugs))๐๐๐งถ
ReplyDeleteDear Teresa, how great Travis and his family live close enough to visit you regularly and spoile you and Dayle! Your blanket is going to be beautiful! No plans for the weekend here. You cannot sit down anywhere to have a coffee or sandwich, there is take away but you have to eat and drink standing up, for they have taken away all the seats from the streets as well. And today we have storm, snow, hail and rain. I am glad my back door is back in! :-) So I am warm and cosy inside, chrocheting away! I also love the Tim Holz technique, so I might do some stamping later on. Be safe, lots of love, Janneke.
ReplyDeleteThat is great that your son and family were over for a visit and even more so that he is recuperating favourably. I am sure you and Dale had a very happy time with them all. Your blanket is progressing really well;lovely bright colours. We can't do much Saturdays as I have to give a morning online class for 2 hours so we dont plan much on Saturdays. Tomorrow Sunday we plan to go up into the mountains and take some photos of the fields of almonds in flower. keep well Amanda x
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your grandsons. That blanket is coming along well. Enjoy your weekend. B x
ReplyDeleteKristi is amazing. Im glad you get family time this weekend!!!! Love the blanket.
ReplyDeleteLittle to no plans here. I am preparing mentally to travel, ,so I am working with a great therapist in preparation. Im such a home body. Ive been known to ruin vacation with my anxiety and travel. Im really not going to do that this time!!! So I had therapy time Saturday. And finished my cashmere cowl. Your blankets have me thinking...maybe a blanket is my next cast on...
Hi Teresa. Monday morning here. The blanket is beautiful. The rose is stunning. So glad Travis is doing well. We had another doorstep visit from youngest son and family yesterday- Sunday. It was Mothering Sunday here. I was spoiled by both sons. Cannot wait to see eldest son and family, fingers crossed for Easter. Even then we can only meet in the garden. Yesterday was my first Mothering Sunday without mum. Visited her grave with my brother. Have a good week. Hugs Anne x
