Future Pie

We went on a jaunt today.  My dear husband, the one that told me I have enough jadeite, called my attention to a green pie pan on FB Marketplace.  Really?  After negotiating a lower price we headed out to find the seller's location in Beaverton.  That is always an adventure and this was challenging as our "Siri" really messed up.  But we called the guy and finally found him and he delivered it to our car.  This is the view on our way home.  Mt. Hood in the distance of the Columbia River.  That is the I-205 bridge there which spans between SE Portland to Vancouver, WA.

Before we got to the above location we stopped by to see my old houseboat I lived on for 5 years.  It's the bigger one behind the small one in front.  It was actually 1500 square feet inside!  I had my sailboat Stargazer moored right outside my front door.  If you'd like to see inside my old home, click HERE.

The living room had a huge picture window where I could watch the boats go by.

And this is the prize we brought home.  Now we have to make a pie.  :-)  I want to make a key lime pie and Dayle wants to make apple or pumpkin.  What would you suggest we make?  My mom was a renowned pie maker and I miss having the occasional one.  My favorite one she made was chocolate cream.

We also had to stop and buy a new easy chair for me.  We had given my old one to my son and so I've been using a red one from our living room.. well.. last night our very naughty dog Mocha chewed the wiring under it and so it became necessary to get a new one.  We'll fix the red one and put it back in the living room.  The color of my new chair is unusual.  Can you guess what color it will be?  :-)  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

    As for pie....any one will do. I've never met a pie I didn't like. I used to make a killer lemon meringue.

  4. I am glad you got to see your boat again. Nice view of Mt. Hood. I always enjoy seeing it, even if I am on the overpass going into town. Always something to mess up in house. Mocha must like the flavor of what she ate..hahaha!! Let me guess.....jadeite color for new chair? Phil was able to fix the dishwasher as it quit working the other night. It's wires attached to make the circuits keep going. One was broken now it is running just fine now!! Wires are on the outside of dishwasher. I wouldn't mind having a new one in another year!! Hugs! :'}

  6. Loved seeing both Mt. Hood and your old home again. I do miss Mt. Hood against the beautiful blue sky. I205 brings back so many memories. Stark St. and Elmers. IKEA. PDX. And Sunnyside...almost to Mandy's!
    Uh-oh Mocha! What were you thinking little girl? I would guess purple, red or jadeite green for the chair. :-) And I love that pie plate. It would be perfect with a chocolate cream pie with whipped topping!
    I would like to get new (to me), dishes for the house. I've been watching Omaha's FB marketplace but haven't found anything I'm drawn to yet.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  7. I am smiling at the pair of you, the collection is never ending lol!!!! I love the romance of living on a boat but I am guessing its not as easy as I think or indeed hope it is. I do a good lemon meringue pie, a great way to use up surplus eggs. Have a wonderful Easter.

  8. Yellow? I always quite fancy a yellow chair. Gorgeous views of Mt Hood, and how lovely to see your houseboat. I went and looked at the link as I hadn't seen it before - amazing, really spacious and what an amazing spot to live. Brilliant to have your yacht right outside your door as well. I shall look forward to seeing your new chair and also the pie. I've never had a key lime pie, but it sounds delicious, I love citrus. Chocolate cream sounds pretty good as well though. CJ xx

  12. Dear Teresa. I love your house boat! It looks warm and soft and cosy, as does your farmhouse. Your grandsons are adorable, and growing up so fast! Your pie pan is so beautifull. Looking forward to see your pie in it! Bon apetit! I am crocheting my 4th round of my meadow blanket, it is all getting so colorfull! This afternoon my two sisters and me had a few coffee's to go, to drink in the sun in an orchyard. That was very pleasant, and something to do again very soon! Lots of love, Janneke.

  13. You house boat looked lovely. I don't comment much but so enjoy reading your blog and seeing the pictures you share both of your home, yard and area. I vote for Key Lime Pie in the new jadite pie dish. I believe your new chair will be a green one. Thank you for sharing your life on your blog.

  14. Teresa, the view from your houseboat is gorgeous! I love seeing Mt. Hood, so amazing. And your houseboat was lovely, just like your home is now. I had to laugh at Dayle telling you about the pie plate! I'd say my favorite pie is the one I'm eating now!
