Pacific Rim

Is the name of my last daffodil variety to bloom in our garden.  My last bulb order was for Mt. Hood, a white one and this one.  But then all the white ones bloomed and no Pacific Rim and I thought the bulb company messed up the order.  But then.. poof.. these began appearing in amongst the whites.  I love them!

It really is amazing how many varieties of daffodil there are.

I need to bring a few of these inside to enjoy.

I spent time this weekend weaving in 30 ends on my Meadow blanket.  Not my favorite chore but once done I started crocheting my 4th round of 15 colors and once done, then blanket will be done and I will crochet the border Lucy designed.  :-)

Dayle and I made a key lime pie together, I worked on the graham cracker crust and he mixed up the filling.

We used Nellie & Joe's Key Lime Juice and followed their recipe.  It's really easy, a can of sweetened condensed milk, 3 egg yolks and a half a cup of the lime juice.

Here it is out of the oven.  I will serve it with whipped cream and grated lime peel on top.

I am taking this for a post-fully vaccinated luncheon at my sister Denise's home with our friend Shirley.  :-)  I'm home now!  We had to reschedule our Christmas luncheon and gift exchange so I gave Shirley 2 pairs of beeswax candles I rolled and a knitted cotton dishcloth you can see on the left.

Sister Denise made some cheesy polenta, roasted veggies and sauteed mushrooms and chicken.

The key lime pie was a hit, I cut and plated them then added some whipped cream and topped it off with fresh grated lime peel.

OK, that's it for now.  Have a great hump day!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. Oh, that pie! I got my second dose yesterday and I feel really punky today and all I want to eat are sweets. That pie would be just what the Dr. ordered!

  4. Lovely to see the pretty new Daffodils and the yummy looking pie you and Dayle made in the new jadeite pie plate for the luncheon. Seeing the dishcloth you made for Shirley a few posts back inspired me to knit two dishcloths as gifts, start on a third for another gift and I have done some more rows crocheting a blanket, also. :-) ((hugs))

  8. Great for you and Dayle to be able to get out for luncheons now and more so as it was visiting your sister. The Lime pie sounds absolutely delicious. I quite enjoy seeing the meals you have first of all because they look scrumptious and also being virtual meals I can imagine how delicious they are and I don't have to worry about the calories LOL. On the border of your blanket so soon! It doesn't seem so long ago when you received the yarn for it in the post. Keep well Amanda x
